Couple quick questions, I assume it is best practice to remove OBDELEVEN after any programming?
Do you guys revert all settings back to default before taking the car in for service?

ok tourist mode is where you take your car from RHD to LHD drive country and it adjusts the aiming of the headlight.

parking aid is where your car can park itself. which cars in the US even has this?

Not possible afaik, but lowering the car does make the car more firm and planted. At least that is my feeling :).

Anybody knows if we can adjust the auto start up parameters of the airco? Would like to have it set so airco keeps starting with 'interieur circulate' (U-turn symbol)...

“Disable DRL LED 'wink' on turn signal / parking lights“

What does this exactly mean? Tried it today and didn’t notice a difference on ‘18 A6 with LED headlights

Also changed the brightness of my DRL/headlights to 40% from 26%. What’s the best setting for this?

On an '18, you won't. The DRL strip is the same as the turn signal strip. In pre-facelift cars, the setting allows the DRLs to remain on when you turn on the turn signal.

I just got my S6 over the weekend and was able to do all of the VagCom coding thanks to this thread. You guys made it almost too easy. The only thing I didn't see was how to turn up the heated steering wheel. I had another member tell me how to do it once I got my car, but when I went in it didn't make sense. He said that the coding would say 28 under adaptation channel 10. However, when I went there mine showed 34 instead of 28. The steering wheel definitely does not get hot, but rather warm. At 34 degrees Celsius that over 90 Fahrenheit, so I'm thinking I am doing something wrong. Or since mine is an 18 Audi did what they always do. They changed something in the coding. Any help would be greatly appreciated. See below for the original post and thank you again for this thread!

Here's the procedure for future reference...

Change the temperature of the heated*steering wheel
The factory preset temperature is set to 28 degrees C, if you want to increase (or decrease it) simply go to module 16 (steering wheel), adaptation and select channel 10. the preset value is 28 which relates to 28 degrees. Change this to a temperature of your choice and you are done. A temperature of 32 degrees has been tried and tested by Shabazmo.

Need to think about this expense. On my 2018, I can reset the service reminders, so no need for this. I'd like to lower the suspension a bit, but many warnings about messing with the 'secret menu', and it's needed, correct? I'd also like the Euro 'dynamic' turn-signals, but can't be done, correct? And same with the stupid screen not retracting every time (that's what the button is for): Is there a way to do that? It's going to crap out sooner or later. But more than anything, I want oil temperature... but spending $200 just for that. Hmmmm. It'd be nice splitting the cost 3 ways with other local folks, but where I live, it'd be hard to find. Might try the regional forum. If everything I want was available, then I'd do it now. He he.

Not understanding your reference to the Secret Menu being "needed", but for oil temp you just need to do the lap timer mod and oil temp shows up in your HUD.

Not sure if even possible with vag com, but anyone know if you can change the speed threshold where the S7 rear spoiler auto engages? Currently it is around 82-83 for me and I would like to engage at lower speeds.

I do the same. Speed up and watch the spoiler come up in the rear view. Before someone mentions, I know about the button but I prefer not to manually intervene.

I know the lap timer is easily done. My reference to the secret menu was to lower the suspension.

With OBD11 what is the pricing for the various mods. I know they talk about credits, but I haven't seen any prices for some of these mods. Once you pay and enable a MOD can you enable/disable as much as you want or do you consume credits each time?

Green menu is not needed to lower suspension. It's done all within VCDS. If you ever find yourself in Washington state, I'm happy to give you a hand doing it.

In regards to the disabling the screen from going up and down - I too am on the hunt for this feature but am pretty sure its not a VAGCOM feature. I want the screen to stay up engine on or off.

The A8 guys are doing it by cutting power to the screen motor via an inline switched wired in.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW_yDsJC4kk

Not sure if its the same on the C7 but maybe I'll take a poke around in the summer and see if the same blue/white wire is undernead the passenger footrest.

I believe you can reset the oil change indicator but I don't think you can reset the inspection indicator with controls in the car. Maybe things are new for 18.

Can't use the stupid multi-quote feature anymore, since they don't erase for some reason, even though I've replied to all quotes with a check mark. Oh well.

Jsilas, that's awesome news man; thank you very much for pointing out suspension can be lowered with VCDS alone.

Mavspire, that's good research buddy, but I don't know if I'd cut a wire to do that, especially without being 100% it's the right one, and with all of that removal involved. It should be under the dash somewhere as well, no? If you successfully do it, I might think about it depending on your experience. He he. And of course we'll use a more factory-like switch. I used a very small one (all black) for the exhaust in my last Corvette, under the dash, completely out of view, but easily reachable. They were available lighted, but I bought an unlighted one, as not to attract any attention at night, since it wasn't stock.

Kczach, you might be right about the inspection vs oil changes. I just noticed my MMI has to reset, but didn't attempt to reset either one. Guess we'll find out soon enough since 18s have been in service for a while, I'm going to take a while before needing to reset a inspection, since I just bought the car. But looks like that thing is a good investment, and it can be sold later with 2 VINs remaining. Might jump on it sooner rather than later, but wish it was a standalone unit, so I could carry it in the car at all times. I don't like needing a freaking laptop at this day and age. Thank you all again.

I thought I would ask this here as well. I started a thread a bit ago but have not seen any replies.

I have a 14 RS7 and I was wondering if there was a way to adjust the exhaust valve actuation RPM on the sport exhaust.

    Thank you for any input.

Also now I don’t need the obdeleven as I have vag-com is there a market for it used ?

Ordered a VCDS cable; waiting for it. Hey, can you please tell me 3 things on this issue: Can you change the ride height only in dynamic, or both? Does the lowering also changes the shock damping accordingly, or it's strictly ride height, meaning your car can now bottom-out the suspension easier? And finally, does the 'raise' height is affected by the lowering, or not? And by that I mean, if you lower your car 17mm, does the 'raise' height also lowers 17mm from what it's stock, or it stays the same? Hopefully the latter.

Were you able to correct that? That's one of the main things I want to change on my 2018. Hope you resolved it. Please post it.

Now, a few more questions asked but not answered yet:

Can we 2018 (or 7.5) owners enable VIM while driving with VCDS? Nobody answered. It'd be very disturbing it could be done in OBD11 but not on VCDS. It's usually the other way around; that's why I bought VCDS, damn it. He he.

Seems like my 2018 doesn't have the 'green', or 'secret' menu accessible anymore, correct? What was on that thing on older cars anyway? Just curious.

My car doesn't recognize the SIM card anymore. Rather than having to take car to a dealer, bought the VCDS cable to fix it. Can't even get to the AudiConnect menu. This has happened to several other owners. My problem is one person said to get into the 5F module and just activate the SIM reading channel. As VCDS users know, you need to input the channel, and then change the code, so I'd need to know BOTH the channel and code to try it, correct? Where can I find that information? I'd greatly appreciate any info. Looking forward to making some changes, especially fixing the damn MMI, since my 6-month AT&T subscription is running and can't use it. Thank you.

Lowering via VCDS resets the baseline calibration of the air suspension. Because the different drive modes are all offset from the baseline, they're all affected by this change. If you lower 17mm with VCDS, all drive modes will be lowered by 17mm from their stock setting. This change does not modify the damper behavior.

No. At this time, VIM cannot be enabled via VCDS on the C7.5 models. OBD11 does allow enabling VIM - I've done it on my 2016 and it worked perfectly. Yes, it's a bit annoying, but if you want to unlock all the features available by playing with our cars' coding, having both VCDS and OBD11 is the best solution.

There are a couple ways that the VCDS software has been set up. For some features, you simply open up the appropriate channel, and there will be check boxes which you can simply check/uncheck to obtain your desired outcome. These checkboxes are typically accompanied by a description of what they do. You can simply check a box, click 'Do it!', and you're sorted. For other features, you actually have to go into the coding helper, and modify the bits and bytes directly. For these changes, you would need to know what specific coding changes are required to achieve your desired outcome.

I'm not familiar with the particular issue you're facing with your SIM, but I'd strongly recommend you take the car to the dealer to have this issue corrected. It is entirely possible that there's an issue that cannot be corrected with simple coding in VCDS.

Has anyone ever gotten the front camera to activate at any speed. I recall trying to override the speed setting but never got it to work.

Thanks a lot for your help on this. So I assume also the 'raise' feature would raise the vehicle 17mm less than before, correct? That was the only part that wasn't clear. Okay, so guess the car could bottom out easier with this change, correct? And the 17mm lower figure was given by Audi at some time, or is that the maximum VCDS allows, or both? At any rate, 17mm lower is exactly 2/3", so it's not that much. May I ask you if you felt any changes in the other modes, or just on dynamic? And was the body roll difference noticeable or hard to say? Just curious, since I don't want to lower it for the sake of lower it, but because I want better handling... if possible. But thinking about it, might lower it anyway, since I'm using comfort a lot more than I thought (wifey), and it sits too high. He he. Anyway, did you measure your car before lowering it, or just went with exactly 17mm in all 4 corners? Thanks again for your help. By the way, everything works fine on my MMI, except it doesn't recognize the SIM card now. Will try to fix it via VCDS, and if it's not clear what to do, post it over the VCDS forum and see if somebody knows something. And since I don't plan to continue with the WiFi crap anyway, probably would just leave it well alone. The moment I put the internet it started acting up, disconnecting my phone from Bluetooth, and crap like that. It might do the same again; who knows. We'll see.
