My car is lowered about 15mm as car wouldn’t lower more than that. In my experience there is noticeably less bodyroll in dynamic. Car is not too low ( I wish I could go half inch further) and there is little concern with bottoming out. However, you do need to watch out for curbs etc in front when parking. Also, Dynamic is a bit stiffer now, but certainly not too stiff. I normally have suspension in dynamic for every day use unless roads are terrible or I am taking a long trip, in which case I use auto. Long story short, definitely worth the 15 min or less that it takes to configure it, and if you don’t like it you can always go back to stock.

Thanks man. Good to know there's no way to accidentally (or inadvertently) lower the car more than we should. Having said that, I'll go with 15mm lower as well; seems like a great compromise. And maybe I don't need to touch the suspension with aftermarket components anymore. In addition, the 15mm lower stance should also increase negative camber, also improving handling, correct? All I want is a bit less body roll in dynamic and a bit more cornering capabilities. Hey, did you measure your car, or just added the 15mm to your stock numbers? And finally, does a full scan record those suspension numbers, or do we need to write them down separately, in case we want to put them back to stock? What I don't understand is if each car has different numbers, how a dealer reset would put them like they were before? Or each VIN ECU's reading is independently kept by Audi? Curious about that. I should get the cable very soon. Hope I can set my D and S auto to show gear; somebody said it couldn't be done on new cars anymore (an error). Also hope to be able to clear the MMI not being able to read the SIM card. Take care.

There is still some body roll in dynamic, but much less IMO. I may do sways down the road as I am used to perfectly flat cars in the corners. Will see. Camber is increased as the wheels appear more tucked in now. Emphasizes the need for spacers, which are on the to do list. I may get an alignment done first with car set in dynamic.

Definitely write down your original values in case you need them again someday. I do not believe the original values are tied to vin or stored anywhere.

I have a 2017 and the coding works to have gear displayed in D and S auto.

From what I have seen it is not possible with coding. There is a thread of someone who wired in a switch to cutoff power to the motor, to keep it open or closed. I think that's the only option.

Hey guys, got to play for the first time with the cable. Since I had a crapload of DCTs on my new car (which were all cleared... but will check if any come back after using the car some), I only programmed the 3 functions that didn't involve affected modules, and those were: lap timer, D+S gear indicator, and Soundaktuator. Have a question on the lap timer module: There were 4 items there, including the needle sweep (checked on my US car), the lap timer (which I enabled), and the driver's message (ie place foot on brake to start engine), or something like that. It was enabled, but disabled it. Has anybody else done that?

And the reason for this post is I tried to mute the Soundaktuator, but at the end got this warning:

"This appears to be an uninitialized control module; valid WSC/Importer/Equipment data may be required.
Click 'yes' for VCDS to use defult values of 12345/123/12345.
Click 'no' for VCDS to try the values currently in the module
Click 'cancel' to go back and manually edit the values"

I clicked cancel, and exited the module without saving anything. Has anybody else seen this? What should I do? And assuming I'm fine with no soundaktuator, where is that thing? I'd like to remove it, if it's not buried under a seat, dash, or any other place requiring disassembly.

Finally, my MMI still doesn't recognize the SIM card. I'll try resetting it, but what exactly should happen when you click those 3 buttons, to know it resetted? And no, didn't mess with the module 5F, but if I don't get any input, will try it myself later today, after I check for codes again. Thanks gang.

Well, not much help here lately. Oh well. Can somebody with a 7.5 (2016+ MY) say if we have a 'hidden'/'green'/etc menu or not? And if yes, can we enable it and access it like the 7.0 cars? If yes but not accessible like on 7.0 cars, then how? In addition, it'd be great to know what is included in that menu... if it applies to my car, that is. A link to a post or .pdf with all the menus and settings would be great. I'm asking because several things I want to change on my 2018 require that menu, according to the lists linked on post 1 of this thread. Thank you.

Okay, so we got screwed with that. Oh well. Thanks for the confirmation. I can also confirm there's no way to enable VIM while driving on 7.5 cars. I tried but the security code threw an error, and a master tech over VCDS said it cannot be enabled via VCDS on VW-group cars anymore (makes sense in this litigious country). In addition to that, tried to make changes on modules A9 (Soundaktor) and 53 (Parking brake), and everything seemed to be working perfectly, but right after the last window asking if I was sure of the changes, another window popped up with this message:

"This appears to be an uninitialized module; valid WSC/Importer/Equipment data may be required.

Click [yes] for VCDS to use default values of 12345/123/12345.
Click [no] for VCDS to try the values currently in the module
Click [cancel] to go back and manually edit the values.
    "

Didn't want to risk an issue, so cllicked 'cancel', and left everything unchanged. Has anybody with a 7.5 seen this, and what did you do about it? I'm afraid to try 'yes' for fear of messing something unless somebody has done it before successfully. The weird thing is the parking brake module accepted the security code and everything. Both modules are obviously initialized, since they're working fine. Seems like we 7.5 owners are severely limited by these kinds of changes. Wished I had known this, and probably wouldn't have spent the $200 to buy the cable (and the OBD11 instead), but at least I was able to do some changes. Bought the more expensive cable because it was supposedly superior to OBD11, but I really doubt it now, at least for my use. Oh well.

Now to some changes I wanted to make that bumped into them by accident, in case somebody else is interested too: Deactivated the auto door lock and unlock on module 46 (central convenience), coding 07, long coding helper, byte 5, by unchecking bits 4 (auto-lock active) and 5 (auto-unlock active). I also unchecked bit 3 (trunk lock (at stop light) active), but don't know exactly what that means. Anybody? Finally, while activating the lap timer, deactivated 'engine start note (put foot on brake before starting)', in case somebody wants that too. Also found byte 9, bit 7 'key warning active': what is it? Is it when you leave the car with the key on you (I want that on), or when you turn ignition on, and the stupid bong sounds for a while before shutting up? I'd like that deactivated for sure. Oh, also found this one on instruments (17), byte 10, bit 0 'brake pad warning active', and it was unchecked. What does that mean? That it won't light up when triggered? Or that it's simply not triggered right now? And one last question about cruise control also on the instruments module (17), byte 1, bit 5 'cruise control system installed', which is unchecked on my car. I have the adaptive one, but was bummed when I don't have the choice to have the regular one. Do any of you think if I click that bit if I could use both? On my other car, if I hold the distance button for a second when cruise is on but not active, it switches from ACC to CC. Maybe it's not possible, but just throwing this out there. Also saw 'lane assist installed' unchecked, but 'active lane assist installed' checked, which in that case is obvioulsy one or the other. But don't know if with CC is the same thing on this car.

Finally, messed with module 5F to try to clear my SIM issue, but only found this 'channel' from the tons of options: 'IDE 10668 - Internal SIM card: use'. It was 'never', and switched to 'auto'. The other option was 'always'. After resetting the MMI I went thru several windows on AudiConnect, with the warnings and such, so was hopeful, but it ended up with the same blue window that said 'Please insert SIM card', so back to square 1. Didn't see any other channel with SIM in there, but will try to go thru it without connecting to the car. I don't think changing to 'always' would change anything, but all comments welcome. Thanks gang.

EDIT: Forgot to mention my experience with the deactivation of US side markers. Tried the rear first, which is the single LED on the side of the tails, according to me, but apprently not. Or something changed. Both were set to the deactivated values of 0 and 32, but both are on at night. Hmmm. Oh well. Or is there a way to turn them off? If yes, please post how. The front ones were deactivated, however, which are the ugliest, so not that bad. He he. By the way, the car is perfectly visible from the side without them on (crappy law)... plus the reflectors are, well, reflective. As a side comment, the instructions are quite different on my 7.5 than listed, but ended up figuring everything out when not getting errors. I made several other changes I found, so will go in detail with each module over time out of curiosity, to see what can be changed. Unfortunately, Audi made it a lot harder with the new modules, but at least some things are still decipherable. Need a service manual badly; need to research where to buy it. Take care.

I saw it at ecs tuning. I'm unsure about any additional costs associated with it.

I haven't taken delivery of my 2018 s6 yet, and I'm trying to figure out if my hex+can-usb vcds will be compatible. I just want to make the following changes and hoping the vcds can do it all:
    - adjust drl brightness
    - disable rear sidemarkers
    - disable front ambers
    - turn on lap timer, oil temp, boost gauge , and shift light.
    - show gear number on the dis
    - disable nav and phone warnings when moving
    - enable remote up/down windows and sunroof
    - lower additional 17mm

    - disable front ambers- I was able to do that.
    - turn on lap timer, oil temp, boost gauge , and shift light.- Done that too, but oil temp doesn't show until tach red line increases to full, which is at 145ºF exactly. Shows as '---' before that.
    - show gear number on the dis- Done too.
    - disable nav and phone warnings when moving- Can't be done like on 7.0 cars. Still have to spend time trying to find the appropriate 'channel', but there're hundreds, and not very clearly described.
    - enable remote up/down windows and sunroof- You should be able to do that but I'm not interested on that so didn't mess with it.
    - lower additional 17mm- Haven't tried it yet, but it's proven you can do it. Just went into the menu yesterday to write down my factory settings (387,388.4,384.2,382.2). Will probably go with 15 myself.
Hope that helps man, but to be honest, even if you don't have an Android device (like me), I'd go with an OBD11 myself.

Thanks. I'm just hoping to get this stuff done with the cable that I already own. Plus, I've read that you still have to spend more money every time you want to do or undo something with OBD11.

Thanks for the help...!! Was hearing that the coding doesn't last and you have to keep inputting codes based on the "credits"

Is this true? Would just like to know before I buy one

No issues whatsoever. I made numerous coding changes using the codes found on this forum. All are still effective.

ANC should help with the drone, no? I changed the tires to much quieter ones, but they're almost as noisy, which doesn't make sense. Maybe I also need ANC 'rebooted' or something, since it must have quieted down the original summer tires that are much noisier than the DWS06 I put. Please post what you find. Will go to that module and mess around with it to see what I find.

Hey guys, can somebody please PM me the freaking security code for the Level Control module (34), please? Spent over 1/2-hr dicking with that stupid German website and couldn't find shit. Don't understand why they just didn't put the freaking code, if we're not dealing with anything more dangerous than the other security codes posted. Thanks.

By the way, we 7.5 owners have a much more complicated 5F module than 7.0 owners, but I'm sure all of the crap on 7.0 has to be on our menu... but we just have to find them. It'll be a lot harder, but I'll start scrutinizing that module little by little. Tried to do it from my office, but the damn thing has to be connected (with ignition on); oh well. I'm almost certain there has to be a 'channel' to disable the auto-MMI-retract, so will look for that.

Finally, tried to fix my stupid AudiConnect not allowing me to even enter the menu due to 'No Data services available. Please insert a SIM card', and only found 'IDE 10668- Internal SIM card: use' that was as 'never'. Turned it to 'auto' (always was the 3rd option) and got thru several screens after a reboot, but eventually lead me to the same blue screen in bold above. Since what lead to all of this was turning the data module off, I'll look for a 'data module' channel in the future. Maybe that's what I need to turn on instead. I'm sure the answer is somewhere in module 5F, but there're hundreds of channels not very clearly described. Will scrutinize them little by little, since it has to be done connected to the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Quick Question for you guys: I just got my OBDeleven for my A7 but wanted to know whats best way to use it ? By inputting long codes or just go with the simple APPs which uses credit ??
I just want the simple mods as my car already comes with the majority of the APPs listed. What's the best and easiest way in your experience to get the most out of it ???

    Looking to do:
    needle sweep
    window / sunroof control
    VIM
    DRL w/ rears
    lap timer
    euro parking lights

    Thanks guys !!!!

Hey guys, suggestion how to handle my suspension drop. Here are the VCDS actual measurements: LF=387.0, RF=388.4, LR=384.2, RR=382.2. The max difference there is 6.2mm. Here's my problem: with the car idle for almost a week (in dynamic mode), here are the measurements from the floor of my garage: LF=27-5/16", RF=27-1/16, LR=27-12/16 and RR=27-12/16. Assuming car is as level as it'd be just turned off (is it?), the max difference is 11/16 or a massive 17.5mm from both rear sides compared to the RF side, meaning I can't lower the RF side at all. And might even max out the rears before the gap matches the ride height of the RF side, so might have to raise that side to even the car out perfectly. Hmmm. What should I do??? VCDS won't allow more drop than it can handle, correct? So I could try to maximize the drop at the rear sides, and go from there, equaling all other sides, even if I need to raise the RF. By the way, used a level on the side of a metal tape measure to ensure vertical position at the middle of the wheel to minimize variance. Also tell me if I need to remeasure after one of the steps to lower the car, before inputting the new numbers. Thx.

One final question. Is the left front side higher on purpose to allow driver's weight (160 in my case)? The weird thing is both rears are identical, so might not be the case. Wonder how the factory came out with the numbers posted above. Thanks.

EDIT: After adding the differences to the other wheels (RF=0 diff, since it's the lowest already), I ended up with the following numbers, assuming ADDING the difference would lower the higher sides (right?), like the lowering instructions say: LF= 393.4, RF=388.4 (unchanged), LR=401.7, RR=399.7. With those numbers, the car should be perfectly level now. The max difference now is 13.3, but the rears are already lowered 17.5mm, which might not be allowed, especially on the LR side, with the highest number (401.7). So would have to lower (to raise the car) all numbers until the system lets me adjust the LR, which is the highest number (with the most drop), correct? If my car hasn't changed stance after 6 days without use, that means our cars are from the factory tucked in a little more at the front, but would like to hear from others after measuring your S6s. All comments how to proceed welcome. Thx.

I made all these changes plus some (such as VIM) with OBDEleven. Great cheap option provided you have an android device laying around. Some have asked how to get the rear side marker led to turn off on facelift models....I believe these were the instructions I used.

I just want the simple mods as my car already comes with the majority of the APPs listed. What's the best and easiest way in your experience to get the most out of it ???

    Looking to do:
    needle sweep
    window / sunroof control
    VIM
    DRL w/ rears
    lap timer
    euro parking lights

    Thanks guys !!!!
You can do all of this by going into the coding similar to VCDS, but it's very easy to do it in one click with the apps, which cost roughly $1 each.

I use it on my 2017. Not aware of any differences between 2017 and 2018 that would prevent it from working.

OBDeleven, do any of you know a way to revert changed settings? I made a couple changes that have impacted my Memory seat and Mirror tilt.

I can help you. I just did it on my 2018. There's a ton we post-facelift are having to find out by ourselves. Here's how do to it on 7.5s:
    - Go to module 47 (sound system), adaptation, and from drop-down menu go towards the very end (long list) and select 'active noise reduction; activation'. Set it to OFF. Turn ignition OFF and then back ON. Then change the setting back to ON, and you're done. Hope this helps.

Well, I also did the 80, like BigTex, but turns out my car with LED headlights has TWO DRL LED strips (rather than 1 on BigTex car), and it's way too bright at 80 IMO, so will lower it to 50 instead. It should be about right. By the way, I also turned on the tails with DRLs, but didn't like the license plate lighting up too. Is there a way to just turn the tails only? Thx.

Another help for the gang: HOW TO DISABLE WARNINGS WHILE DRIVING. Found it while looking for an answer to my AudiConnect issue, which by the way, was able to switch back the 2nd channel I changed. Don't understand why it gave me an 'out of range' error before, but it's back to the way it was from the factory. Well, except the warnings that I just changed, and confirmed gone. Here's how:

    - Go to module 5F, adaptation, then find channel: 'IDE 03471- ENG 152571- Vehicle configuration- unblock functions while piloted driving'. Switch from 'blocked' to 'enabled'. Done.

Finally, I still want to turn the 'data module' on, be able to access the AudiConnect menu on MMI, do VIM, and disable MMI screen auto-retract, in case somebody finds out how. I'll continue messing with this module. Also very helpful would be the security code, since I think it has to be needed for VIM, like before. Found a channel that resemble VIM 'video test at speed', but tried to change it and it kept saying 'out of range' (not an error though), and when it didn't accept 100 kph (60 mph), stopped trying, since my wife would like to use it when traveling, and I'm not going to travel at that speed anyway. Have a good one gang.

Ok attempted to lower via vcds today but got confused since the directions pointed to multiple area's so I stopped but want to attempt it again tomorrow. I did how every change the d off/s off to D on/S on for gear section which I've wanted. It did give me a warring for not having the values but did a little looking on line and this is normal when the values are 0. Needless to say it work which is cool. Some of the things are surely different with the c7.5 some things aren't there or already done including lap timer is only already. Passenger door mirror dip on selecting reverse
wasn't available in there as well.

Didn't work on the suspension until tomorrow, but fixed a big issue I had since my car was new, thanks to my buddy BigTex. Turns out the data module for AudiConnect is turned on by the phone module folks. Sounded too far fetched to be true, but worked perfectly. Geez. Will update the thread I started a while back, and hope it saves months of frustration to other owners. Thanks again for your huge help BigTex. Glad to have friends with better (or MUCH better, in my case) internet search skills. He he.

And yes, many things like the dipping mirrors in reverse, 'all-weather' lights used as cornering lights, windows and moonroof opened with remote, etc., are already activated on newer cars. But many others require very different channels not documented, like to deactivate the rear reflectors, to deactivate the warnings of nav/tel at speed, to reset ANC, etc. Fortunately, I've found many, but most from module 5F (which is very different on new cars) remain elusive still. Also hope to find how to deactivate the MMI screen auto-retract. Already found the solution to my AudiConnect issue, fortunately (thanks again BigTex).

Thank you.
Hidden Menu has not be available for the latest 7.5 models from what I have found.

Yes, I'm aware of that now. Thanks anyway. Hey gang, will finally tackle the suspension drop later today, but the engineer in me thinks it doesn't make sense to have an error on the procedure. I'm willing to try a much simpler method of dropping the car, if some of you think it makes sense. If the adaptation accepts a new value, rather than deleting the entire calibration, it should work, but let me know. Here's the method I propose:

    1. Put car in 'auto' mode, on level ground, etc.
    2. Go to module 34- Level Control
    3. Go to adaptation, and write down the 4 corner values
    4. To to security access, and enter code 20103
    5. Go to basic settings
    6. Select 'activate level control', and hit 'go', and wait for it to complete. Should take a second or so, until it says 'not running'
    7. If you want to level your car (I do), take measurements here from the floor to the fender gap. Write down only the DIFFERENCES (in mm) from the lowest corner (highest number), meaning that corner is '0', so value stays the same as factory. The other 3 differences get ADDED to the factory numbers, to lower those corners to the same level as the lowest. Those 'adjusted' new numbers should have been what the car came with from the factory. Now, substract the highest difference from 17 (the largest drop allowed). Then ADD that to all 4 numbers, meaning you'll drop all corners that additional amount. Since you already had to drop some corners, you won't get the full 17 in all wheels. The adding to lower the corners is why the factory numbers don't mean a true measurement, since you have to ADD to them to drop the car (makes no sense if they were a true measurement, since lower should be a lower number, not higher).
    8. Here's where I would deviate. I'd skip 'delete calibration' and 'start up to reference level'
    9. Go back to 'Adaptation 10' and enter the values calculated on step 7, hit 'do it', wait for message that coding has been accepted, and repeat for the other 3 corners
    10. Select 'go back', and go to 'basic settings' again
    11. select 'calibrate level control' and hit 'go', wait a few seconds until it says 'not running'
    12. Select 'activate level control' and hit 'go'.
    13. You could check the new heights here again to make sure they're all level. There should be no codes since nothihg was deleted.

Let me know if that makes sense. If not, why is the deletion of all data needed when it throws a code? If adaptation accepts the new value (like on all other coding), why wouldn't it work? The other deleted step (start up to reference level) is only needed due to the deletion IMO. All comments welcome. Oh, and whether I do it this way or the old way, I'm sure the way I suggested the adjustments will work perfectly, but would confirm when done. Have a great day gang.

I had my tuner enable the lap timer/boost gauge feature yesterday...love how it comes up on HUD.

But my boost gauge is not working, it just says boost in the corner with no gauge...any thoughts?

The boost gauge is a bar graph that kicks in the midrange rpm’s and up

There's NO GRAPH. It shows up only when there's boost... and a lot of it, at least on my car. I have to be pretty heavy on the gas for it to show. Pretty much useless to me, but the main reason I activated that was for the oil temperature, so not a big deal to me. The shift lights at least show a shadow (when off) when you switch to manual mode (or use the paddles). But the boost 'gauge' is invisible when not showing under boost.

I have been unable to activate this feature successfully:

Enable Remote Operation Windows and Sunroof / Drivers Memory Seat
    36: Seat Mem - 07 Coding - Long Coding Helper - change Byte 2, bit 0, to 1
Seat memory will be there however greyed out in MMI
Press and hold down unlock button on key fob for 5 seconds for the windows to come down
Press and hold down lock button on key fob for 5 seconds for the windows to go back up
In MMI, Seat Adjustment you are now able to find Driver's seat, you can set Key memory on/off. Set it "on" for both keys separately.

When I look at my settings it is matches what is described above but when I hold down the unlock key for 5 seconds the windows do not roll down. What am I doing wrong?
