Q5 and SQ5 dampers and spring difference

I'm looking into lowering my Q5 3.0T non-ADS. Right now, I'm 32.25" GTF (ground to fender) in the rear and looking to get around 30.5-31". I really don't want to loose the ride quality of the Q5 though. I already have an RS4 in the garage on Ohlins, so I like that comfort factor in the Q. So can one fit an SQ5 non-ADS dampers and springs onto a Q5? What are the difference in dampers or are just the springs different? Also, what are stock SQ5 GTF measurements?

I know a lot of guys are going with KW HAS and this has been a thought of mine, but every time I've done aftermarket springs on stock dampers, it doesn't turn out well. I've also heard that KW HAS's are bouncy at times.

The stock SQ5 is the same ride height as the Q5. You will have to either go with a Euro suspension, or to retain ride comfort, coil-overs. I have and recommend the Bilstein B16 (PSS10). They're $$, but you'll have no regrets.

I could be no happier. Total spend with expert installation and alignment was under $2k. Ride quality is better than stock, handling is dramatically improved. Ride height makes me smile every time I walk up to the machine.

Indeed, looks like I'm going to move to the PSS10 set up as soon as they become available again, at which point the ROW kit will be up for sale. Guessing a couple/few weeks.

I worry about corrosion on the bilsteins, since I do live in Colorado and do drive through snow. That's why I was hoping to do SQ5 OEM set up. Hmmm

Bilsteins are made of an aluminum-alloy and have been known to corrode... I know KW uses stainless steel bodies.

I've not owned KW stuff, but from everything I've read and heard from shop owners, I'd worry much more about adjustment rings and seals failing on their products than I would about the risk of corrosion with Bilstein. I just can't fathom that being an issue - seems like they'd need replacement from wear & tear long before they'd fall apart from corrosion. And by that second set you're still money ahead vs. KW.

No mention here on the Bilstein B12 kit. Great combination of Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers. Nice drop and slightly sportier ride comfort than stock. I installed these on my Q5 3.0 and think it worked out great.

No problem. Yes I run the Volk G25 on the S7.
These are BBS CX-R in titanium. According to @mops they are a "unicorn" set. Only a handful available in this finish in the US.
