They are a bit costly but if you're doing this extensive job it seems prudent to replace anything that is recommended by the service manual, IMHO. If you don't have any issues with cam solenoids there is really no reason to remove them at all, which means the 10x bolts wouldn't be needed either. In my case I am having the heads rebuilt at the same time so I'm pulling solenoids and cams.
I talked to JHM about this just the other day and they said roughly 1% of the time (1 of 100 jobs) they actually replace the diamond washers. I asked because I ordered the full kit from them, with the cam solenoid housings and did not receive the diamond washers. They said they don't include them because it's not necessary to replace them, even though the manual calls for it. Is this safe advice? I'm at the point of deciding whether or not to re-use or order new ones. I have 4 used diamond washers between my two sets...
