How to choose a "good" RS grille for my car

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Everyone,

I'm looking to replace my stock grille on my 2014 A4 with a RS4 Honeycomb one. I don't want to spend a grand at Audi, so I have been checking out eBay but realize I have no idea what I'm looking for regarding quality. I need it to have a license holder because I legally need one in my state, and I don't want the "Quattro" at the bottom.

To anyone that knows anything about this or has done it themselves, do you have any suggestions for which one to get or how to choose one?

    Thanks,

    Gary

They are basically all the same honestly. Cheap plastic, even if you paid $300 dollars for one. Just pick out which one you like on ebay and pull the trigger. You will have to remove the front bumper to do this job too.

I found one on Amazon. It does not have quattro written across the bottom which I sort of wanted but couldn't find for pre face-lift. It has black surround and audi logo doesn't stick out too much like some. Looks great and Quality was decent. The seller was Qiilu. When I purchased it was $168. Now when checking they got them for $750. Not sure whats up with that..

Search eBay or Amazon and read reviews. All are Chinese shit, but they do look decent. Good luck in your search!

Just adding. If you are looking for the honeycomb fog grill surrounds I found a set on amazon seller "AMOPA." Again Chinese shit. Ive got no complaints on Quality, fitment was a little tough to secure clips. A little effort and they clipped into place. Those are listed for about $50. Look around though, you probably can find them $30-$40.

Been through two due to a trash panda. Bought my last one on eBay for 200-250 I think. I also have to run a front plate and went with the tie hook mount. I like the look.

I ended up purchasing two for my A5. Learned what to look for the hard way ;-(

    Three things to look for:

    - Compare the honeycomb grid size with an OEM RS grille. Make sure the grid count is the same. Some ebay ones have a smaller honeycomb.

    - Check the protrusion of the Audi badge holder. Some of the ebay ones stick out way too far. Like a big ol' pig snout.

    - Check the honeycomb grid size behind the Audi badge. It should be smaller than the main honeycomb. Some ebay ones have a blank plate rather than honeycomb and some use the same size honeycomb as the rest of the grille. The smaller grid looks the best.
