The wiring was a bit harder, especially because B9 US has 4 wires on the exterior tail lights and B9.5 EURO (same as B9 EURO) has 5 wires on the exterior tail lights + the plugs are a different (nothing a sharp cutter can't fix).
For a conversion from A5 / S5 / RS5 B9 US taillights to B9.5 with animation you need to exchange / add some wires as below (click the photos for better resolution)
Please note that since I used the B9 connectors, in my diagram below I kept the B9 wire colors.
So here's a small tutorial (this is not a step by step guide - when I will have some free time I will make one):
Step 1 - Wiring
- Operation 1 - things you need to do at the connectors to the tail lights after you unplug them
- Operation 2 - things you need to do at the BCM unit on the 3 marked connectors

Step 2 - parametrization with VCP
- From VCP activator - File management download file a5_8w1907064bd.zdc - the one marked below

- In VCP system go to Guided Functions > Apps > Upload Parameter data > Open ZDC file > a5_8w1907064bd.zdc
Select the following data to upload for ECU 46 - Central module comfort system
REARLAMPS_PART1_LED_EU_MIDHIGH
REARLAMPS_PART2_LED_EU_MIDHIGH
REARLAMPS_PART3_LED_EU_MIDHIGH
REARLAMPS_PART4_LED_EU_MIDHIGH
REARLAMPS_PART5_LED_EU_MIDHIGH
REARLAMPS_PART6_LED_EU_MIDHIGH
REARLAMPS_PART7_LED_EU_HIGH

Step 3 - Activating the animation - can be done with VCP / VCSD or OBDeleven only after the parametrization.
This was based on the coding I found on OBDeleven forum for A6/A7 and since I don't have a lot of experience with VCP I used OBDeleven to change the coding for the fields marked below as shown:
Go to Control Units > Comfort System 46 > Long Coding and set exactly as below:
