Does anyone know what this means? The car would try to start but now the starter does not even try. It did this once before, but then quickly went away. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks! [IMG][/IMG]

Anything done to car prior to this happening? Check the battery terminals to make sure things are tight and not loose. How old is the battery?

Shout out your location and see if anyone has Vagcom (VCDS) to read the trouble codes.

If your suspension has been lowered (using lowering links) that can cause an issue if one has snapped or come loose.

I'm not 100% convinced that a stabilisation fault would stop the car starting, so the two may not be connected. If it's an original battery it may be past it's prime, and low battery voltage can throw all kinds of weird symptoms.

It looks like the battery is original July 2012, so that may be it. I just got a battery tester and code reader. The battery test shows at the bottom range of good and I am getting a P0687 code (ECM power relay control circuit). Since the battery is at the end of it's life cycle, I think I will put in a new one. If that does not fix it, then I guess I will have it towed to the dealer.

Update: I replaced the battery and all error messages have disappeared and car is starting normally. Maybe the onboard diagnostics for the current battery condition needs to be improved!

Hi, I need your help as I have the same issue with my car. After pressing the start button, the car will not start and the screen displays the Stabilisation programme: Fault code. The problem is intermittent.

I dropped the car with the Audi main dealer and after the initial diagnosis they were unable to find the fault and have asked me to authorise a further 2 hours of diagnosis time to inspect the wiring.

I read your response above where you confirm your problem was fixed with a battery. You would have thought this is the first thing they would check.

Can you please provide a little more detail to help me understand your cars issue.
