    Transmission service

Hopefully this isn't a dumb question, but I'm at about 62k miles, and I want to service my transmission (2013, ZF8). I'm still under CPO warranty until about next year in March.

If something happens to my transmission in that period, is the CPO warranty on the transmission voided? I don't really want to wait until next year to change it, but also don't want to risk having to pay out of pocket if something were to happen to my transmission before next March. I will probably not have more than 75k on my car when the CPO is expired, if that makes anybody's advice change.

It shouldn't, but you may want to ask the dealer. My dealer said the fluid was "lifetime" fluid, but also gave me a price to change it. It was a little high, but at least you know they aren't going to void the warranty for servicing it if they performed the work.

    Thanks for the response.

I should've clarified but I'm only a bit worried because I plan to do the service myself. My guess is they'd be able to tell somebody has been in there if there was a warranty issue.

You're welcome. You should be good. Just make sure to get the correct fluid.
