Coding C5 RS6 ECU For Manual

Hey guys!

Yes, I'm aware this is the B6 section. But, I've found there's more chance of a response, or sharing of ideas here, rather than in the C5 section.

I'm looking into ways of getting my C5 RS6 ECU (which will be going into my B6) coded for manual, or find a way of keeping the TCU inputs in place, to keep the ECU happy. I would rather it was done properly, though, otherwise cruise may not work, same with ABS and ESP.

Are there any maps that exist, that would keep things working as they should? Bische, and others who are into software, it'll be great to hear from you.

or another option is to add the tables for boost control to the c5 a6 4.2 ecu if its possible to add the input for the map as well.

I thought of this with a C5 S6 ECU, which can be coded for manual. The issue would be the N/A V8 ECU's have either a dual or three-stage intake. The RS6 has a single-stage intake. You'll need to add not just the MAP sensor, but also the drivers for the dual EGT's, and hope the EEPROM will be compatible, and there's continuity between the tracks, directly or via resistors / diodes.

The RS6 ECU also controls two independent MAF's.

Complicated.

Its not as simple as changing the coding.You need to contact SteveKen he has the answers you need!!

Long story short the TCU needs to be disconnected and disabled in the canbus via the cluster
Your best bet is to have an S6 ABS controller installed and correctly soft coded for a manual
and have the current RS6 ECU soft coded to a manual.

You will still get faults on the ABS and ECU:

ECU - Missing message from TCM.You will need custom software for this.You need to take out all the automatic software portion of the ecm flash and erase or replace with manual software for whatever trans you are using.Also in addition to that you will have the following issue with the ABS it will throw a fault stating Controller incorrectly coded.This is because the ECU needs to have software changes also to accept the s6 abs unit you installed.I dont think there is another way around it.However Steve will be able to tell you all about it.I believe he was successful,but ended up selling the part before completion.Best of luck.

Only other way I can see this working is by coding out the DTC flags in the ECU.So even if the faults set it wount affect anything.Thats one way of doing it.
