Hi guys, so my B6 was overheating a little. I took the thermostat out and let it run fully open, this solved the overheating issue. So you would think that the engine would never get to operating temperature or that it will continue to overheat even if the thermostat is running full blown(meaning the issue is somewhere else). But the engine actually runs fine, no overheats(200+ miles put on since I let the thermostat run full blown), in fact the thing that really puzzles me is how the engine is still able to get to operating temperatures(the needle on the gauge is dead center) because shouldn't it be unable to reach operating temps under these conditions? Oh yeah, the fan is running full blown from start up too. Any ideas?
Here are some of the parts i've replaced on the car thus far.
- Radiator
- Water Coolant Temp Sensor
