    Strange Brake Pedal Feel

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
In the last few months, I've felt a strange "rubbing", "friction" on my brake pedal when soft braking. I thought it could be a brake fluid issue. So I took it in to a local mechanic a few weeks ago and they did a brake flush and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. They also said they cleaned some dust out from around the brake lever area. But alas, the issue persists.

Has anyone experienced this and/or have a solution?

I have the same feeling after I changed my pads and rotors.

That's interest! I had new pads and rotors installed too. So that MUST be the culprit. How long ago did you get yours changed? I did mine in February and I still feel the rubbing. Hopefully it will go away over time as the pads/rotors break in.

had mine done about 1 month ago. even going at low speeds and i open my window, sounds like the pads are slighting touching the rotors. I had the brake performace rotors with Hawks Pro pads installed. How about you?

i also had my 25k service done and they did a flush as well.

I personally did the pad/rotor swap on my car and went with the Hawk Euro-Ceramic pads. I also have this "friction" and i'm 100% confident it is because the replacement pads do not have an adhesive on the back plate like the OEM ones do/did. That causes them to lightly contact the rotor when disengaged and create the feel you're describing.

It really doesn't bother me but I did notice the difference.
