when we get together next I'll ride with you and toss in my first-hand opinion. You know my car and what I was experiencing. I noticed a significant deeping of the exhaust and on WOT runs I would often "smell" the buring of the material afterwards. I know mine were on their way out.

No blown cats, yet... I figured the cat replacement is through a higher power than Audi and TD1 status wouldn't affect it...but I guess that is wrong

#3 just failed this morning. Car has 95k miles. 3 failures within 30k miles. The car doesn't even get driven that hard. I'm going back to the dealer to see if they will do something for me, if not I'm going to AOA.

What would test pipes do in terms of drone or loudness of the car. Also what about power gains? Planning on running AWE touring but don’t want it to be too loud or drone

Exhaust is a little louder and a little deeper. My car drones less than it did before.

I picked up ~25whp, I believe this is mostly because the cats were clogging and being a restriction.

Outside the car, yes. Inside none at all. I've had no issue with the smell.

Yes, the air will be read as dirty/lean/rich and throw the cel

My question is will the car run the same or will it try to make adjustments or throw the EPC limp?

In other words is this something I need to fix when the cat blows or can I wait until my state emissions comes up

When my driver's side died in November at 38k mi it was covered after flashing to stock, not saying it would always be covered but mine made it through. Mine was clogging the exhaust so I was getting limp mode on WOT with misfires in 4,5,6. I'll let them replace as many times as they want for free.

Not always... Sometimes you will get other symptoms first of clogged cats. EPC during acceleration, high boost numbers, etc. Heck mine didn't even show anything until chunks of the cat flew out my exhaust.

It get a deeper tone to tell you the truth, i am running the Tampa Autosports Ceramic coated test pipes paired to a Miltek Non resonated exhaust, at first it was wayyy too loud so i added 2 Magnaflow mufflers in the back and i love it... i also gained some power... car feels snappier

I'll post a clip this weekend but first impression is not great. Raspy and loud on throttle but it quiets down with constant load. Will be looking into adding something to quiet it down.

For those of you that got a P0420 code and cleared it. What driving conditions and how long after the first did the second code come back? I got the code a week ago during totally normal driving conditions and cleared it. I need the code to return so I can bring the car in for service at the dealership but have no idea how long I should expect to wait. I'll need to tune back to stock and get the code to reappear.

Question regarding Cat warranty. Dealer replaced Pside cat under warranty, at 62,000 miles. Charged me 400 for flex pipe stating not covered. That cat has just failed again 2 1/2 yrs later and mileage is now 109,000. Are there any Fed laws regarding OEM replacement cats. Dealer is say we warranty our work for 1yr\12,000 miles.

I just tune the S4 with Revo Stage 1 Plus, single pulley and now the car smell rotten eggs when I drove the car in my garage. No cell. No code.

You'll save a substantial amount of labor if the shop doesn't mind cutting them out. Then test pipes are less time consuming to install then the big cats are.

The shop didn't seem too interested in cutting them out. I may be tackling this one myself, just looking for input from anyone whose tried.

I was running APR stage 2, then 034.

My first one went out around 35-40k, then it was like 45-50, and another 10k after that. Lol.

Finally, I just relocated to the bottom of the car so I can replace much easier.

out here in socal after I drive the car and get out I get an odor of a hot exhaust I have not gotten any codes yet and I never
had this issue prior to the install. I have tried reaching out to 034's tech support and have yet to hear from them.
It's been a week since I reached out to them so now I find myself talking to other members here on AZ and I am being told I could
smoke my cats. I was just wondering if any of you have experienced the same issue that I am having.

Nope, cooler isn't gonna help that. Nothing will. Even stock will eventually blow them. But you should get the cooler anyway because you're gonna melt your SC intercooler cores with that extra boost from DP.

Its highly recommended on all dual pulley tunes to run at least a heat exchanger. IIRC one of the tuners wouldn't sell you the dual pulley tune without a heat exchanger on your car at one point.

Happens to me since IE stage 1. No codes yet though. Seems to happen more when I drive in S instead of D. Also when im on the long stretch of highway climbing the mountain toward the exit by my house.
I have emissions where I live so the plan is to go high flow catted downpipes to get them further away from the engine. Saw some were recently released and looks like at least 1 if not 2 other companies are working on them right now as well. A bit pricey but looks like its going to be pricey no matter what. Might as well go with something that gets the cats further away from the heat and easier to replace.
