So I did the Voce 3 yesterday and just want to confirm for the speaker that the red/brown wire is positive with brown/green wire negative. Weirdly enough both configurations work for the speaker as in there is a sound output coming from it.

    That's how I hooked mine up, red/brown +, brown/green -

They will operate either way - but one way will be "Out Of Phase"
    Out Of Phase Defined
    Phase Discussion

Basically if both are wired "Out of Phase" = the issue would be the way the music sounds = no cancellation of sound waves - but I suggest making sure they are properly wired "In Phase" to achieve "Absolute Phase" for best sound.

Got the RS180s installed along with RS75s in the dash and ND28s in the sails with the brackets. Everything fit like a charm.

So how do the Daytons sound? How did you cross them over? I'm also running the RS180 in the doors.

I decided to go active, still waiting to get the DSPs. For now I put together a basic first order to hold me over until I get it altogether, crossed at roughly 400 and 3220

I love RS180s, but the 75s are a bit too bright for my liking. I had to turn down those freq in Spotify’s EQ until I get the rest of my gear.

I created the models using a combination of Illustrator and OnShape. It was printed in PLA, the ones in the door are holding up well to the heat, in the dash it’s starting to warp a bit. I’ll probably end up printing the dash brackets again in PETG.

Makes sense, lots of heat hitting our dashboards in direct sunlight. Have not had the best luck with ABS on my Ender 3 (granted I've not gone to the trouble of building a hotbox to give it a fair shake) but may have give PETG a try. Thanks!

I did create an enclosure for my CR10 and Tevo Tarantula, and ABS still eludes me. I can’t get the first layer to stay put no matter what I try. Glue stick, painters tape, hair spray, or buildtak. Along with the smell of ABS, it just doesn’t seem worth it to me, PETG has been my compromise.

Apologies if this is a stupid question, absolute noob to car audio. With the AP8, the wiring terminal looks like this

I imagine that you only have to wire to one from each terminal (one +, one -)? Or is it some special connector that i am missing.

Hey all, looking for some opinions. I had one the corner boxes installed from Chris Bowen’s Custom Subwoofer Shop installed today. The quality and craftsmanship were outstanding. I chose the Audison 10” option and used the Audiocontrol ACM 1.300 mono amplifier. The sub is weak to me. Lacks any kind of deep low end like I was expecting. Almost sounds exactly like the stock sub. Digs just a little harder but not very much. The ACM 1.300 was installed and tuned by a really great shop here in Cincinnati that are very well versed in all audiocontrol products. I know the feedback on this setup have been great but this is so weak I’m assuming something may be wrong. Any ideas here? When I get the volume up past 25 or so, I can barely here the sub over the muddy bass from the factory B&O system. Would love to get your opinion on what I may have done wrong. Tuned in the accubass right to the point of indicated clipping and disconnected the factory sub. Looking for thoughts.

I have that box being run by a 250 watt Alpine and it's got plenty of juice, and your amp is rated higher than mine, so something is awry. Not to sound like a dick, but is the AudioControl on? Did they use the remote wire or the signal-sensing? Did they use the sub wires for signal or something else? Maybe post a pic of the setup?

I am running the exact setup as you. I had a similar issue and found it was the acubass settings. Mine is stupid loud and amazing low end with bass test cds or some rap music, especially some of the old school from the 90s. It’s got to be the settings. Did you pull the stock sub out or just unplug it?

Just to add to this had similar issues with a LC2i . Never could get it to sound right, worked better when I had a simple line out converter. Kind of had me thinking I tapped into bad line .

Also make sure they wired positive speaker wire to negative amp input and positive to negative. Stock sub is reversed and if you wire pos to pos and neg to neg it will be out of phase and reduce impact. I discovered this during my install. This only applies if your using the stock sub wires for signal.

Hey ha yes it’s on but it’s so weak I definitely double checked. I played around with the settings including accubass and gain. Th unused a remote wire because the GTO feature didn’t work. We used the sun wire and left the stock sub installed but unplugged.

Mine is barely better than stock. In fact from the trunk you can barely hear the sub below volume 20. In the cabin it’s not much different than stock at full volume. It sounds pretty clean if the system is above volume 20 when you are back next to it in the trunk but just lacks power to get into the cabin. Listening to rap I can barely set the gain at half without getting distortion. Amp was super hot.

    Hey guys!

Recently got a 2009 S4 with 3G MMI with Nav basic not the plus.

Been into car Audio for a LONG time, and have accumulated a LOT of gear from previous SQ/SPL builds that i'll be putting into this baby.

    4x 10" Digital Designs 3510a's (1000wrms rated, can easily handle 2000wrms)
    2x Digital Designs M3a monoblock amps (1ohm stable @ 3500wrms).
1x Dynaudio Esotec 342 Threeway front stage (6.5" midbass, 3" mid and a 1.1" Tweeter)
    1x DD C2a (2 channel 200wrms each for midbass)
1x DD C4a (4channel 100wrms each for mids and tweeters)

I'll be looking at putting in 2x10" and 1 monoblock for this, but at this stage i'm holding off to make a decision on either upgrading my 3G MMI to a 3G+ or going the rsnav way. Along with this, i will more than likely require either a bitone, or a helix dsp pro mkII, again depending what i wanna do with it.

Any other "headunit" upgrades that can be considered in these (except for the alpine route..... it seems insanely expensive for what it is really).

Does the 3G+ offer optical out for output to aftermarket amps?

So installed the AP8 yesterday, but for some reason both front doors electronics aren't working anymore (windows, mirror, trunk release).

The one suspicion I have is that blue plug that goes into door panel - didn't plug it in right? Speakers sound great though!

Is the l2ci box? What's used to get a separate sub signal? Or are y'all tapping into rear speakers?

On the concert series I just tapped the sub out and had full low pass with almost no cut off. Actually had to raise the crossover point it was dropping to low!!!

Reversed the polarity and it did make a difference but still nowhere near what other people are saying this setup can do.

And if your putting subwoofers in the trunk don’t for get to take the factory sub out. Day and night difference. Bass is twice as loud

I will get a picture of the settings for you. Also what signal are they grabbing? I used the stock sub signal so only two wires, I noticed you have 4 wires coming in. Also I am not using the cross over at all just passing it through. I figure Audi has it set to cross over with the rest of the system so I am just trusting that.

Yes mine is seriously impressive. Not a bass head by any means but in my younger years I had twin 12s in one car and a twin sub 5th order box that was stupid low and loud. After that I went to single 10s for more balance and to keep my hearing. LOL

Basically same as some of the other members here. Ordered four 3/4" MDF rings and sandwiched two on each side along with a cutout using a cheap cutting board I found at the dollar store.

Took the stock speaker out traced it along the cutting board and drilled the holes where the stock mounts were. I had to shave cutouts where each mounting hole was in the mdf ring so the stock hardware could be reused.

Its not pretty and quite a bit of work but most speaker shops were quoting me ~600 to install the pair. Any shoddy worksmanship is covered by the door panel anyways so who cares

Don't have aftermarket sub setup yet, but is this due to the hole acting as a port? Thought about doing this, but don't want excessive road noise making it's way into the cabin. Was thinking of just disconnecting the oem sub, but leaving it place because of this.

No take it out. It’s restricting bass from entering the cab. No road noise just more bass. It worked for me it went from ok bass to holy shit!
