    Wheel/Tire Fitment

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi, all!
I know there are MANY threads re: wheel and tire fitment, and I've read most of them.

Looking for some confirmation about the following setup before placing an order:

    Current setup is:
    MY17 S6 w/ factory Black Optics and 15mm spacer. (I've been told those wheels are 20 x 8.5 ET45)
    VCDS lowered by 11mm.

I'm looking to get the following:

    20 x 9 ET35 and run a 275/35/20.

All of my research says that the outer edge should be close to the same location as my current setup.

Can anyone confirm that a 20 x 9 ET35 with a 275/35/20 will work without any rubbing issues?

    Thanks!
    Theron

    That's a wide tire for a 9" wheel.

Does an ET35 wheel clear the massive brakes??

The factory black optic wheel with ET45 barely clear the calipers stock. I put 15mm spacers on as well and it gives some, IMO, much needed clearance from the brakes. Can actually clean them now!

I agree with this as well. I had a 265 on a 9.5 rim and it looked great with no stretch at all. I'm not even sure a 275 will fit on a 9 inch rim at all. If you do get them on they are going to look like oversized truck tires.

It is, but I've seen that size run before. Would you recommend going up to a 9.5"?

Thanks! Never used that site before. Looks like it could be close, with the wheel well measurement, but I can always go up with VCDS if needed.

By adding the 15mm spacer, your Black Optics are now ET30 vs 45.

I would. I had 275's mounted on a 9.5" wheel on my Q5. I'm getting ready to order a set of 20x10 et40 wheels for my S6. 275's will seat perfect on those.

According to S4Per here http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...1#post11635308, he's running the following and is the look I'm going for, but trying to avoid the 5mm spacers and the possible need to roll the fenders:
    Wheels: Audi RS6 replica, 20" x 9", 47mm Offset
Tires: 275/35ZR-20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport XL (102Y)

Stock RS7 wheels are 21x9 ET 35 running a 275/30 tire. The RS7 (non ceramic) has slightly thinner brake calipers than an S7 though. Not sure about the caliper size on the S6.

Disagree. 265 is more ideal for 9" wheel but 275 will be far from a truck tire look

I just realized that my concern is focused on the outside of the tire rubbing, but what about the inside? In a full turn, is there any concern with rubbing?

Disregard...after looking at several size calculators, there shouldn't be any concern.

Everyone has an opinion and I fully respect that. I am just speaking from real world experience. Don't use any photos in your decision. Look at it in person and decide for yourself. A 265 on a 9.5 is very, very meaty. It just is sorry if that hurts any feelings. Also note, I usually run a Continental DW and if you're going to run a Michelin PSS the tread would actually be a half inch wider due to there design. So if a DW looks meaty its clear the PSS would just be that much more.

    Thanks again!

I've decided to go with 20 x 9.5 ET35. If the 275 happens to be too wide and poke out of the fender, I'll drop the tire size.

Here's my 275 35 conti DWS on stock 20x9. Fits fine, no rubbing and doesn't look much different from stock 265 35. We're talking about a 10mm /.39" wider tread. Not a big deal.
