Great gains - APR Stage 2 from 1 on EPL's Dyno

Took my S5 to the dyno yesterday, and I have to say I am very happy with the results. Here is the graph from the 4th pull:

    Best (4th) pull yielded: 413 AWHP / 375 AWTQ

I did a session last year having APR stage 1 on the same dyno (EPL's "Heartbreaker" (pff) Mustang Dyno) and it was the same time of year (3/18/16), and the best pull was 366 AWHP / 330 AWTQ.

This is a top end gain of 47 WHP & 45 WTQ going from stage 1 to stage 2.

    Performance Mod List:
    - APR Stage 2 Pulley & v3.1 Tune w/ 93 Octane file
    - Roc-Euro Intake
    - AWE Tuning Touring Exhaust w/ Stock DPs

Here is the graph from my stage 1 session:

    2015 Audi S5 Coupe 6MT | Mythos Black Metallic : Black Nappa : Alu-Optic : B&O : Sport Diff. : 19" RS Rims : Carbon Fiber Inlay | APR Stage 2 : Roc-Euro Intake : AWE Touring Exhaust 102mm : EuroCode Short Shifter : USP Clutch Line : CR-15 Strut Tower Brace : 034 Mounts : H&R OE Sport Springs : 15mm/20mm Spacers : Tint 35% Sides / 20% Rear : Interior LED Kit : E-Codes : Vinyled Grille | 413 AWHP / 375 AWTQ

Nice numbers. Funny how we actually get graphs from EPL when it comes to plotting non-EPL tunes.

I know little, but this gives me confidence EPL is aware of the competition and isn't worried about matching.

That said, for having a dyno, why don't they release more charts to show progress?

Dyno sheet tell you very little of what actually is happening unless you have several of the same cars on the same dyno on the same day with the same operator.... which rarely happens. We generally provide dyno sheets to our customers when we finish up, if they choose to post we have no issue.

Our dyno is a tuning tool and we rarely look at over all figures and focus on % gains.

Its unfortunate that SO many results I have seen lately have either been manipulated or the dyno has not been run correctly... and unforunately the machine we own is the EASIEST by far to manipulate which makes comparing results from different mustangs near impossible.

To be clear, this was not released from EPL, it was released by the owner of the vehicle.

I've seen EPL post dynos of their own tunes on their FB page multiple times though.

This is correct. No affiliation with EPL, just used their dyno.

Little known fact.... we share a parking lot (and are very friendly with) the North Easts largest APR dealer. Sounds weird, but it "works".

To the OP... I generally wouldnt make a comment like this, but since the test was performed in my physicality I feel its important to.

Your original dyno plots are showing corrected #'s and your stage 2 results are raw. Its hard to compare the 2 sheets. Im out of the office today, but can help the 3rd party involved pull the accurate information in the AM.

Tony, I would appreciate that. This is not a APR vs EPL post, the title might be a little click-bait-y. I just wanted to share the data I received, nothing more and nothing less. I will update the original post when I get more data.

an overlay with the two setups in one chart with the same correction applied is what you want ;)

For what it's worth I dynoed 397awhp (forget the tq) on that dyno mid summer 80+ degree day with humidity last summer. That dyno certainly spits out some "crazy" numbers especially being a Mustang.

I posted the chart last year but don't care to resurrect the thread here.

This was EPL stage 2 non duel pulley.

It is a bit odd that EPL gets a pass yet the second APR releases a product they are expected to have dyno figures and quartermile numbers for every Octane imaginable.

Somehow EPL makes it work and has become quite successful. I am neither an EPL hater nor an APR fan boy, I have no dog in the race. Just an observation.

Agreed. But aren't you the guy who paid EPL for a custom dyno tune, only to run mid to high 12's two days later?

I believe it was 12.2 ... matching the same time that a competitors tuned car with the same mods, at the same track on the same day. Though the time was not impressive, I'd say that would confirm the market competitiveness of the product. Just as his car make 398 corrected and the OP car most likely made 40x.xx corrected.

I stand corrected on the time....but the data point that there were other cars in similar conditions at the same track running similar times still holds true.

I'm actually over in Guilford now, right on the Branford/Guilford line. No more than a 5 minute drive to Excelerate & EPL. I've already been over there twice this week, shooting for a third, to bother them while they try to get work done.

As you should be! That is very strong... only a handful of b8's have made over 400 on basic stage 2 set ups on our dyno. But we knew your car was strong form your stage 1 results!
