    Wheel refinishing in the Mid-Atlantic?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Anyone have any recommendations?

I have used Wheel Collision Center in Bath, PA for a couple years now and the quality has really gone downhill as of late. I now have two cars (my M3 and S3) down simultaneously because of paint adhesion issues.

My previous nit-pick with them was that they weren't 10/10 in their paint quality (dirt nibs, bubbles), but now the paint adhesion issues (which the are denying) are really a show stopper.

    Thanks!

    Wheel refinishing in the Mid-Atlantic?

Do NOT use rim doctor in Glenn Burnie. Had to go back 3 times and then they wanted to charge me again to take the wheels off and show me they were round on their machine and blamed things on the tires. They said “it’s probably the tires, if the tires are bad, you can tell when you balance them that the steel has separated from the rubber in spots when it’s on the machine”. So I asked them if they saw that and they said they didn’t remember.... they wanted me to take a day off of work to watch them do it and “prove to me” that it was the tires”.

They also crashed my car into another car (dash cam) fixed it with shitty touch up paint, forgot to put my custom valve stem caps back on, and couldn’t be bothered to put the correct pressure in the tires (ranged from 28 to 40 psi not one was the same as any other)

Biggest waste of a half a grand ever. Wanted to sue them in small claims but I had no proof that it wasn’t the tires and I’m also too lazy.

Online reviews were good, and because I was going on a trip and they were close to my work, I used them instead of ye olde wheel or alloy rim repair like people suggest.

    Sigh

Thanks guys. Sounds like no place is 100% perfect, but there are a few local options

My thing is... if they pay attention to details (tire pressures, valve caps etc) then you should have confidence in their work. If I did it again I’d use alloy wheel repair (both my body shop in fallston and my performance shop, ngp, use them) or ye olde wheel. But hindsight is 20/20 and I needed something close to work.

I have seen some of their work in person, and I was not impressed. Had the opportunity to see three different accounts. I wont be using them.

Ye Ole Wheel shop as well.

These guys have been around for more than a decade, and get the job done right. They will give their honest recommendation and are straight up (no BS).

Just don't expect hotel hospitality customer service. :)
