    Roof rack question

    Hi everyone,
Searched everywhere online to find an answer if the OEM Base bars from an 04 A6 sedan will fit 03 A4 sedan. My assumption that it will not, however I wanted to double check. Thank you for your help.

    For the 2 OE B6 options I see: 8E0071126A & 8E9071151A
    For the 2 A6 OE options I see: 4B0071126A & 4B9071151A

If the 8E and the 4B simply imply A4 and A6, then the part numbers are otherwise the same. That being said, if you search the B6 part numbers themselves it will show the B6 number fitting all B6 and B7 variants but not the C5 A6. The bars for the C4 and C5 appear to be the same but not the same as on the B6 and B7. I have no experience with fitting either but would be inclined to go with your stated intuition.

I did find this thread on Audizine where someone bought OEM bars off an unknown model. In the end he determined they were from a C5 A6 and did not fit his B6 A4.

I may be way out in left field, but I imagine he is asking that specific question because he has access/potential access to C5 A6 OEM base bars.

I heard that stock bars make wind noise, and that Yakima whispbars are a better alternative, just saying.

That's correct. I came across a good deal for C5 A6 base bars, however I don't want to spend money if they are not going to work. Thank you all for your help with this.
