    Audi recall affecting Vagcom?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys quick question!

I got my recall letter today regarding the electric coolant pump software for my 2013 Audi A5!

Has anybody who has gotten their vehicle serviced for the recall noticed a loss in Vagcom modifications?

I'm asking because I have every possible Vagcom mod done including the opening of my droptop through my key fob and I know last time I took my vehicle in for a software service it reset everything!

    Thank you all in advance

It happens occasionally if they update the ecu firmware for some reason. Perhaps there was another TSB they applied ?

Yea I don't recall what it was that caused the reset since it was over 12 months ago! So in this case it should not affect it with this software being added?

The last recall that the 2013 S5 had was airbag related, and some people were reporting loss of custom vagcom settings after having the recall performed. When I had the recall performed I shared my concern with my service advisor and tech. The tech showed me the screens while he was doing it, and there was an option that he clicked before he started. That option kept my settings in tact. I've also heard of other situations where the technician will receive popups to reset specific values back to OEM while performing an update, and some people suspected this was their custom vagcom settings. I read about that before I had even taken my car in, so I asked my technician about it. He said that some screens do behave that way, but if he had a list of the vagcom mods I had in place, he would make sure they went untouched.

So just to make life easy, my service record/customer file has my vagcom mods notated so any technician can be mindful of them.

Had a recall for my S5, brought it in and all vag come mods were reset, so I'm Assuming most likely it would be reset then again you never know. Luckily
I have Carista and was one of the early ones to get in on the $20 unlimited access, so have no problem coding again. Just a hassle

If they update the ECU you'll lose your settings. It's happened to me multiple times. I just go back in and reset everything.
