Eurodyne Stage 2 ECU + Stage 1 DSG: Clutch slippage or what???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have had the Eurodyne stage 2 ecu and stage 1 dsg tunes for several months now, and in that time I've used launch control a handful of times. Everytime I've used it I've noticed an odd sound coming from behind me during launch. Kind of a harsh vibrating sound, kinda hard to describe. I always thought it was just tires slipping a little bit on launch, but I never got to the bottom of it, so I thought I'd bring it up here.

So that leaves me with a few questions:
    1. Is this clutch or tire slippage?
    2. Any update on Eurodyne's stage 2 dsg tune?

Maybe your downpipe or exhaust vibrating against the frame?

Edit: I know this feeling as I'm currently experiencing it. :)

I have the same and haven't experienced this yet, it either goes like stink with minimal wheel slippage, or completely blows all 4 loose and kills power totally.

What version of the DSG tune are you running? There's a version 1.3 available now. I've noticed smoother shifting under load since I switched to it a couple weeks ago. Not saying it has anything to do with your issue but Chris is updating the files so worth checking it out.

Doesn't make sense that clutch slipping sound would come from behind you given the trans is at the front of the car.

Ask the Beemer you just toasted at the next light if your rear tires slipped... :)

Yeah it's super annoying because there are so many possible causes. I'll check the underside of the car again to see if I see anything off with the exhaust system

The arrogant beemer driver I know refuses to do anything off the line, he knows he has no chance.
Loving the car, timed a 4.1 0-60 with this setup and stock tires using an obd2 telemetry module, just want to figure out what this sound is from

Not sure if you guys are part of the FB page, but I'm willing to bet there's an issue with the Haldex. So many cars are having or have had issues with the pump, while others have had complete complete failure. One of my friends had a complete failure, and my brother had a leak... That said, one guy posted up a video about checking the pump fluid and replacement. He saw lots of shard in his fluid etc. His symptoms were different, but the vibration could be related. Draining and refilling the pump fluid seems extremely easy. In fact I plan on checking mine in the near future on my 3.8k mile old 17'. I'm also going to explore and potentially get my DSG fluid level checked. Tons of guys saying their car was either under or overfilled (R and s3).

Generally, I'm almost anticipating an issue issue at some point. I'm only wondering when ;)

I thought so but I figured while I was quoting him I would just spell it the same way

I've heard bits and pieces about this but haven't cared to research further.
I was kinda thinking it has a haldex clutch issue because its definitely coming from behind me. Any link to a useful discussion about this?

Here's one from the golf page. If you're not in the group, ask to join. I hate saying it, but more information there, fickle I know, but Lotta action. I just hate searching fb and prefer forums for technical research. There's a video floating on checking the filter...

We all call em beamers or beemers here. I know the history, but doesn't change the local slang. I don't think bimmer is used anywhere except for parts of the US. ROW just calls them beemer or beamer.
