    List of all sensors

Can someone help me compile a list of all the sensors, and also how count of each type.

I was looking at one service bill from the previous owner, and I notice that the dealer chargers like $400-500 just to find out what the problem is. Just curious if it would be cheaper in the long run to replace these sensors now to avoid having to go the route of trying to figure out the problem.

    1. O2 sensors - 2?
    2. tpm sensors - 4?

There's a ton of sensors. Both engine related and suspension/body related

Not practical to list them all out.

The above link should help you get an idea of the engine related sensors.

There are 4 O2 sensors. 2 per side.

It really depends on the issue you're having. This forum is an invaluable resource to begin troubleshooting. I always search to see if there are any similar issues and something I maybe able to check myself first before needing to head to a shop.

    List of all sensors

The amount of money and time you would spend to replace all the sensors /solenoids in one shot would not be worth it. A lot or most of them will last the life of the vehicle. Yes 4 O2s sensors and 4 TMPS sensor plus an Antenna and module that run the TPMS system. You can check the battery life of each TPMS sensor with the right scan tool

If the dealer charged 500$ for "finding a problem" it tells you they were either bullshitting around or they included also the material and labour for resolving the problem in that same bill.

Most sensor faults are displayed when performing a simple vag-com scan. Finding a sensor problem is pretty quick with these modern cars.

3 hours of labor is the $400-500, then parts is extra :) So the labor is I guess for both finding and installing.

What was the fault/part they "found & exchanged"?

    If it was:
    - a re-programmed battery
    - exhaust ball bearings
    - blinker fluid

Then you can already assume how the cookie crumbles.
