I want to go wider with new tires but keep the stock 19" wheels. Will 265/50/19 tires clear the front suspension okay without spacers? Thanks for any advice.

I wish I could have gotten some replies to my question.Ordered Pirelli tires in 265/50/19 size.I think they will clear .I just need an extra 15mm over stock tire size on the inboard side front.Should be ok.

take a look at this, input all of the parameters and it will get you very close to what will happen.

Looks a little tight. From everything I have seen the max tire diameter you can run is 29.3" and these come out to 29.4" on the calculator I use. Hopefully its still close enough to work though.

According to my calculator, they're 29.5".

Don't panic, though. Because of the radius, you can just get some 10mm spacers. Just make sure to get the hubcentric type with the correct bolts.

Just got back from the tire store. They did NOT fit without rubbing the upper ball joint area.I can get either 10mm or 12.5mm spacers. Will 12.5 be too much offset for the front?

If the 10's are enough in the front, you can use the 12.5's for the rear.

So you think I should get a set of 10mm and a set of 12.5mm? If I need the 12.5 up front I can use the 10mm on the rear, correct?

Calculator use nominal dimensions which may be different from actual dimensions.

For exemple, the SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON are 29.6" according to manufacturer specifications. P ZERO are 29.7".

12.5 front and 20mm rear is a pretty standard setup guys run around here (The Q5 rears are further tucked under, stock, than the fronts so many try and "correct" that). I'm running 255/50-19 with 12.5F/20R ECS spacers. Have ~15k on these 255/50-19s and ~55k on the spacers and still pleased.

You could do what you say w/both 10 and 12.5, but IMO if you need the 12.5s on the front, running only 10s on the back is going the wrong way.

Thanks for the reply.I'm still waiting for the spacers to arrive. Will update the thread this coming week.If things don't work out with the 265"s I will drop down to 255/50/19 with the 12.5 and 15mm spacers.

Good point tmoe -- the spacers I'm running are totally for looks to "flush" it out. The 255/50-19 DWS06 tires fit w/o any issues with no spacers

Updating this thread.Well,I tried the 265/50/19 Pirelli Scorpion on the car and even with the spacers they were very close to the UCA.The tire shop would not warranty them being that tight.Ended up going with 255/50/19 Scorpions which fit perfectly and look great.According to my phone app the speedometer is off by 1mph at 40mph or so.Total price including mounting/balancing and VT sales tax was $880 out the door.
