    burnt headlight 2014 S5

My left front projector style headlight has burned out. This seems a little premature to me, as the car has only been in service 2 years and 9 months. I have a 8 & 1/2 year old Acura the still has its original bulbs which are also the projector style. I assume this will be covered under the factory warranty, and will call to confirm this this week. Has anyone else had their headlights fail early, or am I just lucky?

Sounds like you're just lucky. Sounds like it's time to go for some 5500k bulbs for that whiter look, if you're into that. Otherwise keep us posted on what the dealer says!

Not 100% sure but your old Acura may have halogen projectors. Halogen bulbs should last longer than HID bulbs.

I had the same issue last year with my 2013, I called my dealer just to ask them how can I change it, and they said that bring the car and they will do it for me under warranty.

And to be honest...14 year old TSX projectors are better than your 2.5 year old Audi projectors. Lol

Talked to a service writer today. She said the projector bulb would be covered under the factory warranty. I may wait until its due for the 35K service in 1400 miles, as car is usually only driven during the daylight hours. The previous owner had prepayed for this service and also the 45K service. So I've got warranty until may of 2020 (CPO) and two major services (35K & 45K) all taken care of. BTW, the '08 TL we have does have HID projectors in it.

It's a 2 minute swap if you don't want to wait.

Yeah, might take me a little longer than that, and I want Audi to pay for the bulb. I'm guessing those bulbs are at least $60 or more.
