Vag-com, misfire issues, abs lights need help

Hello, so I have recently begun working on a 2001 Audi S4 I purchased last year as a project. I feel there may be a lot more involved with this project than I originally anticipated, but I am confident with patience and time I can learn what I need to work through the individual issues.

My first question is can I get away with using a VAG-COM 11.11 cable and software copy like this?

Reason being, within the last month I have bought a truck and had a baby, and don't really want to spend $200 right now if not completely necessary. I was hoping this cheaper alternative could allow me to identify the source of multiple issues I'm experiencing.

So first off, I am receiving a flash CEL whenever I go WOT, along with stuttering usually only in 2nd gear and up. It sometimes does it in 1st gear as well. My original thought is potentially a boost leak, and I have ordered the components to do a pressure test, but was curious if anyone else might have insight? Also, my ABS and the triangle with a circle around it, both of those lights have come on, then go off... I have done some reading saying this could be tied into the MAF somehow? I was thinking a bad MAF could also cause a misfire, so maybe the two are linked? I also read a bit about the ABS module and potential dirty/bad wheel speed sensors. It's honestly hrd for me to pick the best place to start, so I figured I need to have at least SOME form of diagnostic software, so I could start monitoring things and hopefully eliminate issues and narrow it down a bit. I appreciate any feedback and advice, I would like to just get the Ross-tech eventually, I'd just rather not spend $200 right now if I don't really HAVE to. Any and all advice and feedback welcome, and thank you.

Sorry I don't know how to edit posts using the app but I realized the link in my original post doesn't work, there is the correct link to the cable and software

You may want to pick up the XTool401 for the diagnostic work, I have one and it works pretty well.

Maybe check the lines to the brake accumulator, I seem to recall being in a car with a similar issue when going WOT and it being that.

The ABS and ESP at the same time could be the Brake Light Fault, pulling the code would tell you.

Honestly I would just get the real Vag Com. Sounds like you have a lot of small issues going on and it will help to have the real deal. Also you can do vag com for others for like 15 bux to make some money back if you want. You have some issues going on your going to need a scan tool that can monitor data as well. You are deff missing and its not just a miss. Its a dead miss if its flashing the CEL. When that happens its a dead miss. You need to see if you have any other fault code also.

With the real VAG-COM I should be able to monitor data and read codes though correct? I thought about possibly being able to make some money back but I think for the $200 one you can only use it on up to 3 different vehicles. Also, what is a dead miss? I'm assuming that stands for dead misfire, which I'm still not sure what that means?

So I plugged in my obd2 reader and pulled up 4 different codes,

    P1122
    P1140
    P0160
    P0300

Looks like P0160 is an O2 sensor issue and P0300 is multiple or random misfire detected. Not sure about the others it said they are manufacturer specific. I'm not very familiar with diagnostic tools, but I did click on "view info" while the car was running, and this us what I saw. Do any of these codes or anything showing on the reader mean anything to anyone? Please I truly am desperate to figure out where to start.

No you can use it on unlimited vehicles. Just don't by the wifi version. The physical cable version has unlimited uses. I have used mine on probably 30-50 cars since I've had it. I have 3 different vag cars myself.

Looks like you have 3 O2 sensor codes. I can look up which ones later. But I would replace the main o2's first before anything else. But your fuel trims look fine to me. Nothing on that data looks bad.
