How Do I Remove The Fog Light Assembly?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hi, how do I remove the fog light grilles and assembly? Is there a DIY? I need to replace a burnt out fog bulb.

    It's for a 2007 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro.

    Thanks!

Just pull the grills out. It takes a little pressure but they will pop out. Then 3 Torx head screws and the assembly comes out.

Any tricks to get the tabs to hold down?

No tricks, just takes a little force. There should be 2 tabs on the side nearest the grill. Pull that side first.

What are ya'll running for fogs on these cars? Cause mine don't match the rest of the lights. So they need to be swapped for HID (only if I can do a High beams with fogs) or LED kit.

You can pick up fogs grills on ebay fairly cheap, I'm running LEDs and placed some resistors on them to get rid of the bulb out warnings, nice and white and bright.

I'm running some LEDs from eBay. They perfectly match the Morimoto 5k HID bulbs that I am running in the headlights. Also cornering bulbs are similar LEDs to match. I need them bright with 20% tint all around and I;m getting old. LOL

Could be a resistor issue. Were they error-free bulbs?

Its a resistor issue... Eitehr buy different worry free bulb/ballasts or read some of the threads where people install resistors themselves (sorry too lazy to find a link) but there is guy out there with a silver (??) A6 who has a DIY writeup.

One way to tell is to switch it back to the OEM ones. If those shows no error on the DIS, then it's most likely the LEDs are causing it. Have you scanned with a VAGCOM yet?

It is my experience that the C6 is real finicky about LED bulbs. I, too bought "error free LED fog bulbs and installed them. Guess what.... initial hyper flash upon starting the car, the dreaded 26 second "blip" AND a bulb out warning on the dash.
Installing resistors is the ONLY way you are going to be able to use LED bulbs without any issues.
