I'm also new to this world of performance vehicles and am so glad there are helpful people out there like you to help newbies like me fix simple to complex problems with their cars.
My car is storing DTC codes P2006 (Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed Bank 1) and P2014 (Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Bank 1)
I took the car into a local shop (not a fan of that shop after that visit) and they informed me that the entire assembly is known to fail and would need to be replaced for $1,300 USD.
I took the car home and did some more digging into these codes and my guess would be that the sensor itself is what really needs to be replaced, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
These codes were not pulling until after I DIY'd a carbon clean and got everything back together again. I may have damaged the sensor that's now causing these codes. These codes instantly return after being cleared from the system.
What are your thoughts?
