    magnaflow exhaust installation

just picked up a used magnaflow exhaust. seemed a good compromise as (when watching the few video clips i could find) seemed quieter than the other alternatives but a little more aggressive than stock. I haven't even been under the car yet as I've moved shops and haven't yet set my car lift. I'm wondering in advance what will happen with the exhaust valves. I've read there are exhaust flaps in the tail pipe tips but wondering if installing an exhaust without them, and leaving the connectors hang, is going to throw a cel?I pulled up the install sheet on magnaflow and it make no mention of this.

I believe others have left it unconnected without issues and is only a one way connector meaning ECU sends the signal but the valve doesn't feed back any signals. A good test is disconnecting them now and seeing how it behaves with the stock exhaust. If no codes then no codes later.

If awe sells this, and assuming there might ba feedback signal, funny a reputable company like magnAflow does not address it. All just guessing at this point but I'm going to assume (and hope ) there isn't a signal to the ecu.

Edit: ok, so you were correct; http://www.uspmotorsports.com/Exhaus...imulators.html

No cel in cluster, but a code stored nonetheless

I wouldn't go with a magnaflow setup. I had the full cat-back system installed on my A7 and it had horrible drone on the highway and constantly rattled due to a poor design. I have since removed it and put my stock exhaust back on.

My S6 was used by Magnaflow to build this exhaust. Its the silver car in the videos they posted. I like it. Sounds much deeper than stock at start up, idle and on acceleration. might drone a little, but not enough that it has ever bothered me on longer drives. Have a few launch videos on my IG, hortikris. Well worth the price vs other systems IMO.

Front dual res delete and mid suitcase delete.
Still needs more of a growl when wot or even just reving it seems too quiet.
Going to replace oem mufflers with a pair of magnaflow race mufflers.
Hopefully this set up doesn't create too much drone.
Anyone have any experience with their race series mufflers?

I don't know whichMagnaflows mine were - didn't realize it had them until i had my AWE put on. Anyway, mine had the suitcase removed and had no drone. Plus, the guy that had this done had the OEM valves welded in right behind the magnaflows. It was a decent setup, but still had a "pft, pft, pft" sound to it. Wife said it sounded a bit like a paddle boat, so I sprung for the AWE Touring. It's actually quieter than the suitcase delete/magnaflow setup by a touch - but the quality of the sound is much better IMO. No drone with either setup - and the old one had straight pipes welded in place of suitcase - i.e. no X or H pipe.
