If you are looking for the answer to the OPs question, I would thing the answer is no. I can say that for a trans swap, you must go with the same trans. Did tons of research on that before I did my swap.

Do you have a post or blog on your swap?

I'm looking at swapping my engine and I've done several before so I'm
Not worried about it but would still like to see some peoples posts related to c6.

I'll be swapping another 3.2 so itll all be identical still

I may be the worst before/after type guy in the world. I had every intention of doing a super detailed post on it, but .... There are a few random photos in the "what did you do to your C6 today." thread. Honestly, it wasn't that much different than other trans swaps I have done. I think the biggest thing I was surprised about, was the "You have to take out the Motor mounts to get the starter out. It is not that hard, but it does have to be done, in order to get to the triple square bolts out of the flywheel. Be very careful when taking out the triple square bolts, or you will be buying a dremel with the flex cable to grind off the head of the bolt. Ask me how I know :)

Interesting. I ask because I found a motor and transmission at a local junkyard. Found the owners info and found him on Facebook and know it has 140k, runs and drive great mechanically. A wreck on the side totaled it.
So I want to pull it out, $250 for motor and 100 for the transmission. I wont find a better deal than that... mine has 247k so eventually itll need a swap... and id rather have a motor ready to go that I've had time to refresh and can expect another 100k out of...

Ohhhh hell yea, grab it and do the repairs. if for no other reason, you could make a fairly shinny penny on it :)
