    D3S Headlight Help

2013 S5: is the standard headlight 4300k in this car? Im just confused because I had gotten 5000k fogs to match the DRL and it was pretty spot on. So are the LEDs around the edge 5000k and the high/low beam 4300k? I guess I just never noticed. Or am I mistaken with any of this?

Yes oem hids are 4300k. Hids are more blue-ish if you look at them directly but the light output tells the real story.
My 5500k headlights look a lot more blue-ish than my 5500k led fog lights but the output colors are pretty close.

OEM color temperature is 4300K which is just on the yellow side of white. Most people will go with a 5000K bulb when they replace OEM because it is just on the blue side of white which makes for a much more high end look. The light output difference between 4300, 5000, and 5500 is very minimal, you don't start seeing a noticable output drop until you get to like 6000K (very blue) or 8000K (purple).

How do you install the bulbs in the B8.5? I have found instructions for the B8 not the B8.5 and the headlights don't slide out as the B8. Any tips?

It slides out it's just more difficult. I took mine out yesterday. There's a bracket on the top with a vertical screw on top and a horizontal screw on the side and then you just pull the bracket off with some force. Then tilt the inside side of the housing out first

drivers side is easy, just remove dust cover and carefully remove bulb. Passenger side you have to slide out the headlight a bit.

With my roc euro intake, bulb install literally couldn't be easier. I can have both swapped in less than 2 minutes.
I'm guessing you'd have to pull the stock airbox if installed, but that's a fairly simple process. Definitely don't have to pull out the headlight housings.

Thank you all for the reply, tips an link! I tried before and as Beast said, the passenger is difficult, I tried to slide it out completely and it looks like there is something under the headlight unit that make it difficult to take it out, but never tried to just slide it out a bit and not completely, if it doesn't work I'll try the air box tip ... I'll do it again this weekend!

I have a RocEuro intake and I took my passenger side out completely because I didn't realize I could've gotten away with just sliding it forward a bit. Now that's it's out I see it's not necessary. But if you need to take the passenger side out because of your airbox it's possible and once you remove that bracket on top it slides right out. Seems impossible without removing the bracket.

You definitely don't need to side the housing out at all with the roc intake. There's tons of room
