Best Replacement Tires for 19" S3 Rims

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Am getting ready to replace the 235/35R19 Y OEM Continental tires on my 2015 S3 and wanted to see if any of you have any recommendations.

After some wear, finished them off on the track a few weeks ago (what a fun car the S3 is). The Continentals have a lot of road noise but I do not have any real other complaints. One of the instructors at the track recommended Michelin Pilot Super Sports or the Sport Cup 2. Also have been reading that Pirelli will be coming out with new P Zeros.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Pricey, but once you've had them b4, it's hard not to just get the PSS. Tread warranty is a yuge plus. Great in wet. Noise is good. Turn in is glorious. Just a great tire.

Don't do PSS wait for the PS4S that are expected to be even better.

Apparently the PS4S is available - I checked on Tire Rack. I will switch to Michelin tires once my Continentals are toast. I have the PSS on my Carrera 4S and love them. Wear well too, nice bonus.

245/35R19 PSS or PS4s I have the pss in that size. Give the tire a nice square look. On black ops rims still clears with 20mm spacers on the rear and 17.5mm on front.

Thank you all for the unanimous on the PSS or PS4s. Depending on price will go for the PS4s.

Am also looking at the ECS spacer kit and 20 mm in rear appear to be what to get but the 10 mm up front appear to be questionable. See a lot of 17.5 mm up front in prior posts (sorry ask about spacers in another new post...). Have the 19" OEM wheels and will stick with those.

If the PSS has limited sizes available, you should opt for the PS4. If limited sizes are available it indicates the tire is being discontinued. If you get a flat some way down the way that can't be repaired, you'll be looking at investing in at least 2 tires. This is assuming the other tire isn't significantly worn, or if you want to consider shaving a tire.

Personally I'd recommend you look at the crop of autocross street tires. There's a reason why no one wins on the Michelins, they're not as fast.

Went for the Michelin PS4S tires and was surprised to be able to order them at Costco. Saved $300 ordering them from them. Had them installed Friday and installed the ECS spacers today.

Based on discussions on this forum, decided to get the 12.5 mm spacers for the front and 17.5 mm for the rear, instead of the ECS kit. Here are a few pics before and after install.

Really appreciate all the feedback from everyone!
