Help! B6 S4 went to shit on a roadtrip

Already brought the car into a local (Chicago) shop that seems legit, Wizard Werks, but thought I'd see what you guys think.

Started with the engine running rough and "eating" about 1.5 quarts of oil per 1000 miles. At this point it would go away if I pushed the clutch in.Putting in heavier weight 10w 40 oil seemed to help

Later it developed into a really bad vibration around 2800 rpm and if I pushed the clutch in all the way I'd get a different sort of noise., making me think there was also a throw out bearing/pressure plate failing. Also shifting into 3rd had to be delicate and slow or else the teeth would mash. But maybe this could also be because the engine was vibrating?

They don't think it's the infamous timing chain issues since the engine isnt misfiring. Anybody run into something similar?

    Updates? Rear main seal issue?

Took it to the shop, reset the ECU and everything was fine for 1k miles. Didn't charge me. Issue came back just a few days ago on another trip so brought it to a dealer this time. Oil filter flange and valve cover gaskets were replaced for the oil leak which weakened the serpentine belt to failure. This was the cause of the CEL but the engine is still vibrating. And now it shutters violently from 1st gear, to the point where I'm starting out in second. On the freeway as long as I'm under 2800 rpm it's not so bad but above that and whole car turns into a vibrator. I'm gonna limp it back to Chicago, hoping won't have to stop at another dealer in Omaha on the way.

Any thoughts (besides glad ur not me)?

So it got worse. CEL is back on (after 300ish miles) and I think my clutch/dual mass wheel is failing now. All of a sudden I had to double clutch to shift at around 500 miles and smelt like burning tranny fluid when I pulled over.

My thought is the engine vibration put excess strain on the clutch, it's not the root issue. CEL must not be caused by the serpentine belt, it was just another casualty.
