    S4 4.2l swap into 2006 audi a4 6spd Quattro

    Hey guys new member to this site as this is my first post on here, im very interested in swapping a s4 4.2v8 to replace my 2.0tfsi when it is pooched due to personal preference, im having a very hard time figuring out if the engine will bolt up to my trans and if not what is required to make it happen if its even possible, all info helps greatly if anyone has done this swap before your help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks guys hope to here from some of you.

    There's surely guys here who know the answer to that, based upon sheer genius. I get intimidated in this group. Much more heady than the e46 forums I used to frequent in my BMW days!

    I can't answer, but I'm very curious why? You'd be out the same money buying a 4.2 and getting it finished into an a4 car, but you wouldn't have the upgraded suspension etc made to deal with that motor.

    I drove a BMW 330i until it coughed up blood. Sold it with a useless motor for $600, bought a like-new 2006 s4 for $8000 and never looked back.
