I have decided to reluctantly sell my S4 (and all my other personal belongings) to pursue my life dream of traveling the world. I bought the car Feb 2013 with 130k miles, and in the last 4 years have replaced most of the mechanical aspects of the car. Car is now approaching 198k as my only car and daily driver. I love long distance highway driving, and the mods to the car reflect that. You won't find anything crazy here, and the car still drives modestly until pushed. I am not a mechanic, just a guy that likes this particular car- all work listed was professionally done, and all receipts are available.
Bought with:
- Borla exhaust + downpipes
- APR Stage 1 tune
- Forge DVs
Stage 3 conversion @ 158k, Oct 2014
- Frankenturbo Stage 3F kit: new turbos, 550 injectors, stage 3F tune
- Engine torn apart and rebuilt, new oil seals, no sludge issues
- Most recent timing job
- New water pumps, coolant reservoir
- New engine and transmission mounts
- SRM SMICs
- ECS RS4 clutch kit
- All supporting little stuff - spark plugs, snub mount, MAF, etc.
Suspension overhaul @ 187k, Sep 2016
- Vogtland GT3 coilovers
- Hotchkis rear sway and brackets - front sway is still stock
- All new wheel bearings and front hubs
- New rear shock mounts
- All new pads and rotors
- All new Continental DWS tires
Other stuff:
- Hartmann DTM 18" wheels
- Rear differential seals
- Morimoto HID kit
- 2.0 Coil conversion
- Custom full Stage 3 tune (Stage 1 and 3F ECUs still in trunk)
- Oil changes and tire rotations every 5000 miles
Known issues:
- Dead pixels
- Clouded mirrors
- Broken visor clips
- HID kit flags "headlight out" warning
- Vacuum leak via brake booster hose (and CEL)
- Car is 15-16 years old with 198k miles, has the usual dents and scratches you would expect
- Power steering leak, took it to two places and neither could find it. My guess is it's the pump since the boots are okay.
Stuff not done:
- Synchro issue. Known issue, but never had a problem with it.
- Car still has stock brakes. New, but stock.
I don't drive the car in a way that requires upgraded brakes and I mostly drive like a wimp. I didn't really want to mod out the car, it's just cheaper to put in reliable aftermarket parts than OEM stuff. I'm asking $7000 up front, but to be honest I have no idea what's considered a fair price for this car and am open to suggestions or ideas from others. I try to be pretty reasonable in general, and will answer all questions as they come up.
