    2018 B9 S4(and S5) build configurator now available on Audiusa.com

Disappointing in a few ways in my opinion:
    - No option for sport diff w/o also getting adaptive suspension
    - No black optics package, or any exterior trim packages
    - Wheel options are rather bland
    - Cold weather package = no flat bottom steering wheel
    - And most importantly, no 6MT

Warm weather package does seem very attractive though (despite me living in PA)

I really want to like the new b9 but I just don't get excited about anything here.

Same. I could even MAYYYYYBE get over the lack of a 6MT, but it just looks so plain. going to need to be heavily modded to look good IMO

Yep, wheel options are not good. We were spoiled with the great B8 options. I prefer the design of the 18" so I'd probably opt for those and keep them as a winter set. I don't like the design of the 19" at all.

Not sure why no Black Optics, as it's available in Europe. I believe AoA didn't offer it for the first year of the new Q7, either. And, Audi can't seem to make a heated flat bottom wheel... It's been that way for years. Again, not sure why.

Ventilated seats are nice but there's no way I'd give up the sport seats for it!

Yep, "interesting" set of options they've put together, no Ara Blue Crystal either....RS3 keeps looking better and better.

Anyone notice under performance image, that its a single turbo hot V with a split downpipe?

black optic will probably follow, they did the same with the new Q7.

Also they narrowed the tire size down to 245

Too much focus on tech these days. Give me my stripped down performance sedan with sport seats and a bangin stereo!!!

What you talking about you get "sport" seats lol.

But omg what terrible packages and terrible options. You don't even get full leather in the car anymore. Leatherette are you kidding me its not a base model car. I guess we should be thankful they only increased base msrp by 1K over outgoing model. But seems like every package you are have to make a hard decision. The only package that everyone will probably like is the Tech package. But other than that Every package you have to be ok with scarifice with something else.

Also The Hot V is a good design. less parts for audi. More efficient. The turbo bolts right to both heads. And they don't have to run 2 turbos or a lot of exhaust piping.

I am honestly completely disappointed with this S4. Its almost a complete let down. Atleast with the V8 S4 it was an easy let down with just the power aspect of it but it had great interior and awesome sounds. I will deff be waiting for the B10.

I admit, poor wording. Point being, IMO, the "Sport" seats look like crap compared to the "S Sport" seats.

As far as packages, I'd imagine the overwhelming majority of cars will be ordered with the Tech and S Sport packages.

I think my next car will be a BMW M2. The S4 is just too plain & bland. I used to like the Sleeper effect, but not anymore. The S4 looks lame so we have to buy Enlaes rear diffuser. The S4 sounds lame so we have to buy AWE/Milltek exhaust. The S4 has no personality.

I agree. m2 is top of my list for similar priced cars.

This is definitely making me keep MonSoonHell. I will be purchasing a new toy after my tax return and from speaking with a friend at my Audi dealership (Finance Manager), my new toy won't be another Audi. I am very disappointed in the future Audis and the S4/S5 is speaking volumes right now. I was told the following, the R8 V6TT is not being considered anymore. The same for the RSQ5. Perhaps the reason for keeping the S4 bland and naked with options is the RS4 sedan may be making its way next year or as a 2020 vehicle. One can hope, hell in this case we better be praying Audi gets better....did I mention that I am an Atheist.

So, if I am keeping MonSoonHell, no need for another AWD/4x4 vehicle, and she can remain my winter vehicle. For my summer vehicle, I am looking at Kerbeck Corvette (ACY) specifically at a 2017 Chevrolet Grand Sport or Z06.

Anyone else hear some future Audi news?

More details on the engine here: http://youwheel.com/home/2016/06/08/...-3-0l-turbo-v6. Waiting for somebody to post the self-study guide on the new engine.

Larger version of that image also from Audi media: https://audimediacenter-a.akamaihd.n...4999_large.jpg

RS4 will get the twin turbo setup, most likely the 2.9TT from the Porsche.

No more Audi for me as no manuals are being offered in any S car. Not ready for an automatic.

I'm interested to see if the seats (love that stitching, but hate the "S" with no 4) or the front calipers are easy bolt-ons for a B8.5.

This confirms my plan of hanging onto my 2010 for another year or 2 and then finding a low miles and well optioned 2015 or 2016 B8.5 S4 and keeping that for the foreseeable future...

Does the car actually come with 6 pots though? That would be a nice touch... still think B9s are a little strange looking, probably go with a 2017 S6 when I look to buy again in a few years

Yes. Still not a huge disc size for track use @ 350mm, but the caliper bracket is detachable, so I'd hope to see an aftermarket company (psst... @ECS) release a larger rotor along with some machined spacers to move the caliper out.

Rumours are that Audi is getting rid of the platform that the B8/B9 is using and adopting an existing VW platform, guessing the Golf platform. A6/S6 will benefit, sharing platform with Porsche.

Been in my S4 for two years now, and occasionally have that "What will my next car be" question floating around in the back of my mind. The B9 always seemed like a logical choice, but after seeing what it brings to the table (or in this case, doesn't) I will definitely be hanging onto this car for quite some time to come.

Seems like the next one will end up being an RS7 when it's time for this one to go.
