So I recently picked up a D4 2013 Audi S8 that has the rear entertainment package and for the most part understand the system, but have a question that I can't seem to find information on.
Here's what I have:
- Video in Motion Enabled
- Front has MMI to RCA, RCA to HDMI, Firestick that is viewable up front.
- The Firestick and RCA to HDMI unit is powered by two micro USB cables I ran from the rear drawing power from just below the rear A/C source.
Here's what I know:
- The front display has it's own DVD player below the unit and an MMI port in the center console.
- The rear has it's own DVD player in the upper back middle seat and an MMI port in the rear center console.
- Radio and Navigation can be shared between the front and rear.
- I saw in some models a DVD unit is located in the glovebox that can be shared between both zones, but mine does not have this unit.
Questions:
- How would I go about using a single MMI source to broadcast between the front and rear zones.
- Has anyone successfully ran independent power for accessories? I'd like to make it a cleaner install.
Only Conclusion:
- I assume I can configure the same setup up front to the rear and run two Firesticks for both zones, but use one remote. With both units on I suspect that they would be in sync with the single remote.
Thanks for the input!
