id like to buy one for my car but its old and I am not sure I want to buy a unit for a VIN i wont have for too long. Its kinda not worth buying a single for old cars

The 3 vin would be a good choice, you don't use up vins for basic scans.

Funny! I was actually shopping for one yesterday...and low and behold, your post pops up! I had to do some google and youtube on what to avoid, and reading back to see that I can do unlimited basic scans without using the VIN is even better, and can help me diagnose my car issues...as a beginner! Good to know this is $199 and makes more sense to buy at this price for me!
