    Pedalbox/similar gas throttle mod users' club

    Hi Folks,

    (Just to mention I really enjoy reading this forum everyday, I like the members, the tone, the knowledge... keep going like that!)

    Sooooo.... I read too little over here about my last mod so let's talk about it: the "pedalbox", or in other words the mod that works against the accelerator pedal lag.

    I was highly sceptical about that type of product, here the pedalbox from DTE (but some others exist), I mean... for that price, can't be serious. Around 200 euros new (so let's say 200 usd). So I even took one second hand not to be disappointed, but a fellow on a french forum was so enthousiast, I had to try.

    http://www.pedalbox.com/en/product/the-pedalbox/

    I installed that myself, just the panel under the steering wheel to remove, and the cable to route properly, avoiding the hot little metal pipe), and go!

    Just invisible when sitting in the car:

    It's instantly noticeable. Especially in launch situation or low gears and rpms. It just goes, as a go-kart would behave. Impressive. On highways situation, it's a bit less impressive but still there, and as access to gas comes immediately, it makes the acceleration more... linear over pedal course, strangely enough. At least that's what I feel.

    It's not an ECU map. I think this Q&A below covers it all. I know people who combine it with stage 1 standard maps. No trouble.

    So... I can only recommend. I love it.

    A thorough review here:

    Any other users of similar stuff here?

    I have heard of it. The dealer/installer of my ALP-BEL STIR+ suggested it. They had installed this mod on pretty much everything and could not speak highly enough about it. They had 2 Ferarris, 1 Hellcat, and many other super cars in the install bays doing work. My S6 might have well been a Civic by comparison.

    The fact that it would not affect TD1 was a huge plus. However, it reminded me of the sport button in my M Coupe with ECS tuning and supercharger. Sharpened throttle response is fun down low but can make the car jumpy. I ended up deciding against it b/c I am not sure it fits this car. Given the S6 does not have a torque converter, I am not sure it is a real benefit. It is fairly cost effective mod though and you do feel it for sure.

    I might reconsider my choice ;)

    @audis4b8
    Lol

    @Roadwarrior
    It's the most attractive effective/cost ratio for a mod. Give it a try! My Z4M also have a button to change the behavior of the throttle but in either mode there's no such a lag like in the S7...

    Give it a try!!

    I never really understood these devices. All they do is simulate you pressing down the gas more without you actually doing it.

    Hummm maybe.

    Those devices shorten the access to gas as you need to press 20% of the pedal course to get some gas whithout the device. It's not adding any extra power.

    Sway barsend links give you a better feeling of the body. Pedalbox gives you better feeling on the gaz pedal control.

    Might be something I look into. Always feel there's a little dead pedal space with my S6 before you feel the car move.

    So is sprintbooster the US version of the pedalbox? What are some differences?
