    Audi A6 C7 APR Stage 1 Dyno

Just wanted to create a post since I could not find my answers before I went to the Dyno.

    2012 Audi A6 Prestige AWD
    APR Stage 1
    USP Intake
    93 Octane

    393.01 WHP / 362.75WTQ

All three runs were similar and this was obviously done on an AWD Dyno. Not bad for the daily driver.

Nice run. Did you do a baseline? Would be curious what WHP/WTQ spread was from baseline. Also, I love that supercharger whine!

Thanks! Sorry, I didn't do a baseline because I only cared about what it was after the tune. Stock is 310/325 for 2012 models.

. My APR stage 2 put down 364whp. I'm surprised your numbers are so high on stage 1. That's over +100whp on tune with no pulley.

Oh wow. Are you AWD? 93 oct? Any other mods? I know the dynos can make a difference. They had the side door open blowing some cold air from outside in as well.

That seems abnormally high for stage 1. This is why baseline is so important.

Sorry, I had no interest in baselining a stock A6. Just wanted to provide info for those looking for info on stage 1 APR tune. APR claims 168hp/128tq @ crank.
This dyno was accurate for my 550hp BMW a few weeks prior. Maybe I'm just an outlier, but I just wanted to provide my dyno sheet of figures.

22k miles on her and around 40 degree air blowing with hood open when tested.

I wasn't sure if the non-prestige 3.0s had an option for Quattro or not?

I have stock exhaust on it, just tune and intake but 93 oct and cool weather I'm sure helped. It was a dynojet and everyone says it reads higher than mustang dynos. As long as the butt dyno is still fun for you I wouldn't worry about it!

Huh? More like 120ish HP/90tq over stock at crank, stage 1, 93 octane to my knowledge, and I'd say those numbers are a stretch given they are from APR.

I'm not trying to poop on your parade or anything like that. Nor am I trying to get into another friggin dyno argument because there are plenty of those threads already. We all (should) know that different dynos can spit out wildly different numbers. Yeah, a baseline on an A6 is boring as hell, but how else are you going to get a delta on a tune if you don't? Had you baselined your car on that same dyno I'm guessing it would have returned much higher numbers than the stock Audi numbers of 310hp judging by what you posted... And if that were indeed the case, would you create a post here saying your stock A6 makes more power than Audi says it does?

Most of the A6/7 C7 dyno results that have been posted have been from a mustang dyno, which appears to always be lower numbers than from a dynojet dyno.

I'm not worried. 363whp is consistent with what stage 2 is @91. I would caution folks from thinking they will have 400whp on stage 1.

Fair enough. Take my thread with a grain of salt. These were the numbers that the dynojet spit out and seem to vary from what others report.

My car might read 430+ on that same setup.
But regardless, I won't be surprised that his baseline would be around 300whp on that setup.

This. Although Audi does understate their stock numbers, these numbers are abnormally high, even for a dynojet. Actually, Dynojets do tend to be more repeatable across the country but they are known for reading higher numbers. Mustangs read lower but there are variables one can enter to dramatically change the output readings.

When I went stg2, I was actually planning to do a stock, stg1 and stg2 comparison at my local dyno for these very reasons. Alas, my tuner was not available to spend 1/2 a day at the dyno on the day I requested.
Do it right, or don't bother.

People are meaning no offense I think. Its just relevant to point out that you really arent providing any data on what an XXX Stage X car is doing horsepower-wise without a baseline. You're just providing what company X stage X level of tune is doing on THAT DYNO on THAT DAY. ... which is pretty much meaningless unless all of us go over to that dyno to use it on our cars. That dyno could be a high reading dyno, an average reading dyno, a low reading dyno. So you'll never know how much horsepower your car picked up from the tune.

Its all good though, since we already know APR does a fine job on stage 1 tunes on the 3.0TFSI engines.

I agree Mike. I was searching for APR Stg 1 dyno numbers on here and couldn't find anything for the C7 A6 so I wanted to provide my results. Seems as though the numbers read high for my run.
