rear brake lines (the hard line)

wondering if anyone can chime in. I am going to make new rear brake lines for the rear of my s4 ( the hard line connecting the two rubber hoses). I know its 3/16 size line, but I am wanting to know what size the fittings on either end would be. I know there metric just not sure the size? any help is appreciated. I have tried to search but I haven't found any info yet.

Why are you replacing the hard line? I would get a new one from a scrap B5 instead of making new ones

I have read somewhere that you can get maby from ecs a complete braided line to bypass the rubber bit to the calipers that would be a better option silly middle rubber bit

I just replace all my bushings in the rear and even though I was able to remove the lines the fittings on the hard lines are stripped.

10mm by 1.0mm metric bubble flare. Not sure what you have for auto parts chains down your way but my local Advance Auto Parts had lengths in stock from about 1 foot up to 6 feet. Brand is Poly Armour, the coating even resembles the stock green lines.

+1 they also carry the new copper line thats bendable by hand so no bender needed and its doesn't crimp!

True, but in practice the female side imparts the second flare angle when you tighten them together. The factory flare tool I use has been missing one of it's anvils for two decades. No leaks on any lines I've made. As for any part store having metric lines...no. Not even close. They should, but I've wasted full days driving around collecting blank stares at every store I walked into.
