I was thinking that was a possibility, but there is a setting in another menu to auto tension the belts. Don't really see why you would put it here also.

I mean, there aren't many tensioners in a car to begin with, and the drive shaft/supercharger doesn't make any sense, so it has to be the seat belts I guess!

It are indeed the seat belt tensiors. If not mistaken they will put extra tension on them when the sensors detect a possible collition...if not mistaken is it part of the brake guard package.

The belt tensioners are not under Individual settings. In order to get to them in the MMI, they are Vehicle Setting --> Seats --> Driver's Seat --> Automatic Belt Tensioner. Below are all the options under individual settings and how to get to the belt tensioner....Hope this helps Twineffect...

You have a different menu than me. Mine is USA spec, so no suspension setting. Yours is probably newer as well. I have only Engine/transmission (one setting), steering, and belt tensioner.
I also have the setting you mentioned under seats. Weird that it is in 2 spots.

Mine is also a US model....(NorCal...aka Northern California). Strange I've never seen Belt Tensioner on any US S6 under Individual settings on the Car/Drive Select screen. Mine is fully loaded and you may not have all the settings I have but there should be a few of them, but not any additional too them.

***Edit*** I just went back and saw you have an A7, not an A6/S6....your menu's may indeed be different. Well, I guess if anyone has the same question for an A6/S6, here are some pics.

I think the seat belt tensions do come as two features. One when you enter the car, sit in seat and buckle up....in my car once buckled they pre tension them slightly.
Additionally, like i mentioned earlier, in case of an accident they will put extra tension on the belts so you get extra strapped in.
....i think, luckly didn't had to experience that last feature....

yes, you've got to wedge your hand in there. it was a PITA. i think the rear right one was the most difficult. IIRC you can apply pressure from the outside like a fulcrum and it will pop out more easily.

Front easy. Turn wheels left and right for more access. I don’t remember if you have to pull liner. I just pushed from either inside out or vice versa. The fronts pop out easy.

Thanks will give it a try! Taking a liner off is easy vs taking apart the whole bumper lol

If you search one of my old posts (it’s under a thread about side markers) I think I found out you didn’t even need to stick your hands in. I think if you use the blunt end of a screw driver and put pressure on one end of the side marker, it acts as a fulcrum and pops it out.

I did both front and rears with the tip of a screwdriver wrapped in masking tape to protect the paint. Had all 4 reflectors swapped out in only a few minutes. Taking off the liner is overkill.

Removed my front and rear side markers using a Harbor freight trim tool set, was about $5 and makes the job super easy, no need to get access to the rear of the markers at all.

It’s only in the seat section of vehicle settings in my 2016 RS7, nothing about seatbelts in the Drive Select individual menu.

Can somebody tell me if the trunk (luggage compartment) is supposed to be difficult to latch?

I have a new 2018 A6 - compared to my old car (328), my wife's Honda, and really any car I've rented, the trunk on the Audi is hard to latch. Don't really like slamming my trunk, but if I don't, it kind of hits the latch and bounces back up. I can close it using the inside handle (to avoid finger prints on the lid), but I have to give it a fairly strong tug.

Not sure if this is normal to Audi, or maybe because the car is new. Don't really want to complain to the service department if it's normal.

    Thanks

I noticed when I got my 2015 A6 that sometimes I need to try closing the trunk a couple times too. Curious if this is normal as well.

My 2013 A6 does the same too. I just thought it is normal...Sometimes I feel like I'm slamming it too hard (though I don't like it) than required because I don't want it to bounce back..

If your key is in your pocket or to close to the trunk it will pop back up. It won’t allow the trunk to close if it thinks the key is inside the trunk...

I have had that happen, after the gym I put my bag in my trunk with the key in it. Kept popping open, after the 6th time I figured out why. Probably looked like an idiot lol. My old Infiniti would let me have the key anywhere in the car, and simply unlock the doors with the button.

Is there any good place to store change?? Just got the car, looking for any little hidden spots. The main storage is huge, as well as the one behind the shifter. Any hidden small change places???

Tried closing with the key out of range with the trunk. Still needed a very forceful slam to close. Judging from other posters, I guess this is just normal. May have a tech look at it at my next service, but not with a special appointment
