The jack points have a body colored cover that pulls down and out. Under that is a black plastic rectangle that looks like what you have pictured. That part remains on the car and various jack pads, hockey pucks, etc. fit into or against it.

Here's a shot of the plastic jack point and one of the jack pads.

Perfect thank you very much. That is exactly what I was wondering. Seems crazy to jack up the car on that piece of plastic but works for me. Appreciate the response and an actual picture where you can tell what is photographed (unlike mine)...

The jack provided in the trunk also fits snugly into the jacking point. Not many of us drive around with a hydraulic trolley jack in the trunk.

Mine is EU spec 3.0 TDI
    Sorry, missed this question.

The answer is yes, there is an option for front and rear cameras on the A7 platform, however you don't get the "birds eye overhead view" that you get with the A6 platform as there is no option for cameras in the wing mirrors.

I retro fitted a rear camera into my A7, and it was fully functional every time, including OPC. So my question would be are you using an aftermarket solution, or are you using OEM components, including camera and control module, and correctly coded to the car?

    Regarding front and rear cameras.

While similar to the stand alone rear camera, it is in fact a completely different system. The single rear camera installation is an analogue camera. The front and rear camera solution uses digital cameras, with a completely different control module, but the principle of operation is similar to the single rear camera, and the on screen display is the same - the front cam picture doesn't have the tire track guides, just a red line which any object shouldn't cross.

You should talk to a good aftermarket OEM installer for advice

    Had to ask...

Does your A7, S7 or RS7 collect a ton of water behind the the gas cap... whether its during heavy rains or a car wash. I noticed there is a significant amount of water build up in around the gas cap area... is it the same for you guys? I was wondering if it was suppose to drain out... or only when in motion it will likely just drain through the gaps in between the gas cap.

There is a drain hole. It in a indentation forward of the gas cap. It looks like a screw head. Stick a tooth pick into the center.

Whenever I start from a stop (MY16 S6 @ 7200 miles), I notice this whining noise from the engine bay (I believe) that starts at about 5 mph, becomes higher in pitch, and disappears at about 15 mph (alternator?). On normal acceleration it is almost not noticeable but on slow acceleration or in stop and go traffic it is a little annoying. I don't recall when I first noticed it so I may well have been there from the start. Without audio it is probably hard to give an opinion but I'm just wondering if anyone else has this (i.e. it is normal) or if I need to get it checked out. Having to flash back to stock to go to the dealership is kind of a hassle that I'd like to avoid if this whining is normal. I have no codes in VCDS other than the always present 5F malfunction and the sound system error below that is always there and I think is a VCDS bug (notice the typo).

Secondary air intake. When I put the Injen intake on my A7 I put a second filter on that hose. Most don't even bother.

Does everyone who lowers a c7 also get adjustable UCAs to correct camber, or does the factory setup allow enough adjustment to correct it without the need for new arms?

Damn if I don't wish I would have asked that same question I pried mine off in a fit of annoyance and told the dealer who took the car as a trade to make sure to replace that.

Because once you disconnect it a stock filter would be very bad with hat hose disconnected.

    Hopefully you get an answer.

I almost did the same but ended up leaving it. I'm sure the box provides a little bit of heat shield but I still might remove it in a few weeks if I figure it out

Try to open you hood and look for runner hood stoppers. You should be able to unscrew them some more to press on the hood harder.

Those are nice and taught and spaced well. Its right by the windshield washers that is always moving around.

In our cars, we all have electronic throttle control. Is that the same thing as what they call "drive by wire" technology ?

If you change your downpipes and eliminate the cats, will you still pass emission testing?

Yes the electrontic throttle is drive by wire. Hence the reason that ecu tunes often change the peddle profiles.

If you remove the CATs you will not pass an emissions test because they are the items that reduce/convert the harmful toxins. You will also get a check engine light.

People typically get tunes that code out the rear o2s. So in most cases you can pass if they do not perform a visual inspection.

My quick question: With my S7, it's a pain to manually push the spoiler button every time I start the car. There are other owners that mentioned a programming code to enable on startup or remote. I've searched this forum, but haven't seen any posts. Has anyone tried this option? Thanks.

Here's my dumb question: the owner's manual states there is lap timer that shows a shift indicator and oil temperature (it's on page 87 of the 2017 manual), yet I cannot find it anywhere.

    Where is it at?

    Thanks I'll take another look.

Also, the Audi connect key user registration is a bit confusing. Trudging my way through. It's all over the place.

But good god, this car is amazing. I can't imagine what your RS7 is going to be like. I have a permanent grin on my face lol.

The lap timer isn't found where the manual says it should be found.

The last item I have is reduced display, there's nothing below that and lap timer isn't found anywhere in the vehicle functions tab.

Is the lap timer only for the RS7 or is there another way to turn it on?

    Thanks.

It should be right above reduced display.

You can turn it on using VCDS. Do you have one? I had it enabled on my A7 it's a great feature.

Enable Automatic Gear selection shown in DIS

    [02 – Auto Trans] [Adaptation – 10]

Select “Single Gear Display” from top channel drop down menu

Select “D on/S on” from New value drop down menu

Enable Lap Timer Shown in HUD- also enables shift light

    [17 - Instruments] [Coding - 07] -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 1

Bit 3 - Check the box for "Lap Timer active"

    Here's a dumb question:

I don't have a heated steering wheel and have that button programmed to advance the stations. However, whenever I first start the car, the button will just advance through the current band and not the presents. I have to manually change it to presets on the steering wheel for it to advance.

Is there a way to make it default to the stereo presets upon entry and startup?

when using Audi connect app on an iPhone, how does the automatic parking position store the location? I have my phone connect to the cars wifi yet, when I get out and leave the car, the parking location is never stored unless I manually select "save parking location". Thank you all for your help with this dumb question.

    My dumb question:
My 2009 S5 MMI has Nav so the mute button is by the gear selector. When I press it the B&O mutes the radio and when I press again it comes back to the exact same volume.
My 2014 A6 Prestige has the MMI knob in the same position by the gear selector. When I press mute the Bose system mutes the radio, when I press it again it returns to volume level 12 (only when the level is greater than 12). Ex: when the level is 6, it's 6. When it's 18, it's 12.
Is there a fix in MMI or is this some sort of safe default volume?

    Will a facelift RS7 rear diffuser fit a pre-facelift RS7/S7 rear bumper?

I know the face lift A7 rear bumper had some changes to the diffuser mounting and design but the RS7 looks identical in pics. I believe the tail lights are even interchangeable? I'd just like to confirm before I pull the trigger on one that needs a little TLC following an accident/insurance replacement.

That's a safety feature to prevent you from blowing out your ear drums. Might be available in vagcom/vcds to disable but I wouldn't know where. It's not an option that I've seen in MMI.

Newbie here. Looking to purchase S6. I like the red calipers and realize you can do that after purchase, but wondering which package comes with red calipers. i originally thought it was sport package, but have seen some sport packages without red calipers?

Anything during purchase of S7 with 55k on it that I should look and listen for?

Question: Trunk release opened using the exterior trunk handle but trunk unlocked but I had to manually open it; no power open. The power open buttons on the dash and in the trunk work just not the exterior trunk handle.

Is this how it works or is there something wrong?

Question: I see some wear on driver side arm rest. Is this easy to replace or something aftermarket that I can cover it with?
