I saw a thread about this a while ago. If I remember correctly, only the Prestige package comes with the illuminated door sills. And yes, they are automatic and only come on when it is dark outside. I assume they are connected to the light sensor for the automatic head lights.

I have squeaky front brakes. My car was just in for service & winter tire change and my brakes are fine - 60% life left in them. However they squeal at any gradual stop.
The service guy told me this is normal for Audi's and that's it. I personally don't think my expensive car should have permanently squeaky brakes.
So a stupid question - should my 2015 S6 have squeaky, loud, embarrassing brakes?

Most do. The huge rotors don't help.

There are a few threads dedicated to discussing replacement pads. Most agree that you can only pick two qualities: stopping power, low dust, low noise.

The OEM Brembo pads have great stopping power, but are loud & messy. Kind of suboptimal.

It's actually quite a common problem. I have the same, after about 5000 miles. Really annoying, and embarrassing when your pulling up outside your own house!

I'm considering changing pads to something with a ceramic content. Audi dealer told me to live with it!

It's not unheard of for ceramic brakes to be squeaky. The best way to combat this is proper brake bed-in procedure.. Basically a series of going fast and slamming on brakes to a NEAR STOP (not full stop) will heat and clean the rotors and pads.

Audi covers this under warranty. Record a video of you stopping and the noise and take it to the dealership. They will send it to audi and they will approve it. Had it done on my 16 s6 and 14 s4. They had a known issue with the break pad composite.

disk italia ceramic pads with their rotors. better braking, no noise, no appreciable dust and damn does the slotted/drilled rotors look sweet.

This... and since all C7 S6/S7 were Prestige it may have seemed like it was standard on all prior to the facelift when it was really a part of the Prestige.

A4 is Premium plus. A7 is Prestige.

I just checked. Both have the S line insignia on it. I was mistaken about there being nothing written on it.
