I have NY tags on my car lol. And I’m paying deeply for it lol. But yes insurance companies are very shady, that’s why you have to always communicate through email as it protects you. God for bid something where to happen.

I have Eurocode swaybars and they are squeaking a bunch over small bumps. I had them greased and it’s better, but still there. Any suggestions on how to get rid of the squeaks? Also, I’m using factory endlinks if that matters.

I have had the same issue over the years. It went away after I replaced the end links.

im a little late the insurance premium conversation, but i pay $1518 every 6 months for 2 cars
    RS7 $1086
    glc300 $432

I guess i get to thank the NY area/ Tri-state for higher than average premiums.

    What grease did you use?

I used this last time, it's been the longest lasting so far...

Did anyone come from a manual transmission vehicle/history, and really find themselves missing it? I'm still struggling with it and find myself constantly checking the market for manual B8/B8.5 S4's and 15+ Golf R's.

They’re different breeds. Pick one up as a second car.

I wouldn't say an S4 is that different if a breed than a C7 A6. The A6 is bigger with a more modern interior, but is pretty similar otherwise. The Gold R is quite different, but as someone who loved my S2000, I really enjoy smaller calls that are tossable.

I didn’t mean a completely different breed. I should have specified better. It’s just a different class. The A6 is obviously a bigger car. The B8/B8.5 is an amazing size. I love it, not to big not to small. But I have to say, I do like a slightly bigger chassis. Hence one of the reasons why I bought my A6.

It really depends on what you’re looking for, if you want luxury/ modern but still have plenty of power keep your A6.

But if you want a small fun car to toss around the B8 is for you. But you do give up some of the luxury/ modern interior

Golf R is a haldex system and basically the same as an S3.
S4 is the way to go if you're choosing between these two cars.

S4 vs S6, there's a big difference in how they drive and handle despite them being so close in weight and size. The S4 feels a lot smaller than it is, the slightly shorter wheel base makes a noticeable difference.

Agree completely on the S4/S6 comparison.

I used to own a ‘95 Dinan S2 M3 and have never driven a manual since that even came close. Yes, I miss it. I’m glad I sold it to my dad, who still owns it.

Makes sense, sounds like we agree. My wife put me in a "buy now" mode (not intentionally, I kinda did it to myself) so I sort of impulse bought. I feel the size of my A6 everywhere. Honestly, it's not bad for what it is, but it's noticeable for a small car lover.

Golf R is very different when it comes to AWD. The on e I test drove in the winter, I found worse than my 08 Infiniti honestly. But I test drove one in the summer and it's a hoot. I'd prefer an S4, but you get much newer for the price.

We just sold my wife's car. We were contemplating givingher the A6 to not take the massive depreciation hit, and I'd but an 11 S4 6MT. But the S4 may be sold, so we may just get her a 3 row SUV (Pathfinder) and I keep and mod the A6. I will always long the manual, but maybe a rear muffler delete can start to make me happier. The engine is great, but I hate to quite exhaust.

My car (2015 RS7) has not been to the dealer in over 3 years as I do the oil changes myself.

How would I find out if there are any worthwhile software updates that I am not getting?
From looking on BMW forums it seems like there are software updates fairly frequently - is it different with Audi?

I know there is a way to check for major recalls, but what about the smaller stuff?

Maybe they have a late model ID3 tag version? Anyone figured this out?
Anyone that is curious about album art on the MMI, finally found how to get album art for all my MP3s.

Make sure the art is embedded into MP3 as JPG and is 500x500. Changed all of mine to these specs and album art now shows up on every MP3 on my SD card.

    recall lookup:
    https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?gclid=...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

software updates are typically only installed if there is a complaint that something is not working correct/as desired.
If you are out of warranty, anything that is not a recall, will come at a cost. including minor software updates.

What Adjustable Control Arms are RS7 owners using to correct camber after lowering the car? Do you need front and rear, or just front?

You don't need adjustable control arms at all for the small amount of lowering we're doing. If you're looking for a control arm upgrade, 034 sells control arms with their street density bushings.

Anyone know the name or part number for the body ? jack ? covers? There's like a rectangle cut-out near each jack point (in front of rear wheels, behind the front wheels) on the bottom-most body panel. I am missing my passenger rear one.

I had the same issue as well, I contacted Eurocode and they mentioned that wrapping the bar in teflon tape will help as well. I did that after reinstalling and bought the wrong kind of grease but used it anyways, and it has started creaking a bit. I am ordering, right now, the grease that TD_05 posted.

The rears and front are different, I broke mine with a floor jack and not using the jack pad insert that I have now.

ECS sells these, as "Front Socket Jacking Pad" or "Rear Socket Jacking Pad". I brought the rear by mistake the first time and it did not fit the front so I ordered the front. Still have a rear as a spare, just in case.

Thanks but that doesn't look right. I'm talking about a body part... its like part of the side skirt that seems to surround the Socket Jacking Pads

I see, my bad. I cannot think of what that looks like off the top of my head. I think on my car it is surrounded by the side skirt that is molded to allow the socket jacking pad.

I believe Audi calls them stone guards. For the 2016 S6, look at the following part number on audiusaparts.com:

    Front left: 4G0-890-905
    Front right: 4G0-890-906
    Rear left: 4G0-807-905
    Rear right: 4G0-807-906

I wouldn't take my word verbatim, but maybe give them a call?

Fans were running after car was shut off one night so I disconnected the battery to get them to stop. The battery was dead and had to be jumped in the first place but it ran fine but whenshit off fans stayed on so I unhooked the negative battery terminal and they shut off. I then put the wire back on and they stayed off and now when I start the car and drive it the coolant overflowed a little out of the tank and was steaming and boiling. So I turned ac on and watched and neither fan is now working. I quick looked under the ecu and didn’t see not the slightest sign of water. Can some one tell me which relay I should be checking and also where the fan control module is exactly on the b7 s4 and how to test it? And lastly are there any connectors that if left unplugged or not fully connected could cause the fan not to work as I can see a cpl connectors behind from bumper that are not connected. Anyways any help would be aporeciate

Thank you! How many tubes of grease do I need to order for the front and rear sway bars? They are cheap, so I’d rather be safe than sorry.

Is the sport suspension a "must-have" when purchasing a C7/7.5 A6 3.0T? Is it just lowered and different shock/spring setup?

My drive is primarily mixed city/highway (thanks, DMV traffic) so I value comfort, but have heard the A6 is a bit soft 'n "floaty" For reference, I daily a stock B8.5 A4 (standard suspension).

Curious to know other's feedback into if the sport suspension makes a big difference?

It's got different coil springs and different sway bars if I remember correctly. However, many people here swap them out anyway for lower springs/stiffer sway bars so if you intend to do that it won't matter if it has sport suspension :)

I ended up buying the 8oz tub it whatever the smallest tub was. It was cheap so I said screw it, I'll probably need it again at some point.

I have an S-Line as well and definitely wouldn't call it floaty. I don't find a big difference in suspension based on drive select, but maybe my C7 doesn't have the same thing.

For me, it was a must-have based on the wheels, modest drop, and three spoke steering wheel that are part of the sport package, not so much the performance of the suspension. There are times with the 20" wheels that the suspension feels a bit on the stiff side, but nowhere near anything that could be described as harsh. Always feels like a well-controlled luxury car, just on the sharper end of the spectrum. Best answer is to test drive and experience it for yourself.

None of the North American A6/A7s (C7 or C7.5) have air suspension or adjustable suspension by other means last I checked, so no suspension difference between modes.

Assuming you posted this in the C7 forum by accident, head over to audiusaparts.com and take a look at part numbers for both cars :)
