HID to LED conversion on 2012 Q5 S-Line

This a project I have been wanting to do since I purchased the vehicle. I want to convert standard HID lighting to LED. I have done this in other cars from Halogen to LED and it has been such an awesome result. The lighting is so crisp and bright and I love the ability to see with such confidence at night. Even the factory xenons in the Q5 leave more to be desired in the way of light output and to be honest the 4300K just looks yellow to my eye on the road and I am longing for the more pure white. I have found LED bulbs that will work and are a perfect shape and fitment for replacing a D3S bulb the problem I have is none of the bulbs I have ever come across have a connector on the other end to plug into a D3S harness. They just have a red and white wire coming off and need to be hardwired in. My long drawn out question is has anyone successfully accomplished this task and how did you go about it? I am attaching the bulbs I will be using and the harness I wish to disect for use as my new plug for the lights.

I recently did this on my S4. It had factory HIDs and I switched out to LEDs. You will need to take the power leads going into the ballast and uhook it. Then route that power to the LED. I'm the end you bypass the D3S bulb/ballast and just use the D3S projector.

Any pics you have of how to do this? Where are the leads attaching and how did you attach them to the ballast?

Since you woke up this thread, this is very easy, which you simply need to unhook power lead from ballast and tab two wires from LED to power input wires as 'GoldRushTri ' mentioned.
Good thing is that you get awesome looking LED's.
The downside is that it's not as bright as HID light.
What we suggest to do, upgrade your stock D3S to either Osram CBB or CBA and put good quality LED lights on fogs.
You will have close-enough matching coloring between low and fogs while having good amount of lighting output.
