Pilot Alpin PA4's Being Discontinued?

Just got off the phone with my local tire shop as I was having them look into pricing and ordering Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4's in 245/40/18. They didn't have them in stock so they called TireRack, and according to TireRack they only have 3 in stock and they are being discontinued. Has anybody else heard this? Also, TireRack's website was allowing me to add 4 tires to my cart...

That's news to me. I just installed my brand new PA4s a couple of weeks ago. I bought the PA4s in 245/40-18 because the PA3s I've had since 2010 (which are still available) are no longer made in the 235/45-18 size. I would recommend calling Tire Rack directly and getting the real story. And be sure to let us know what they say. If anything, it is possible that they are in short supply in the last week of November, but are not really being discontinued.

Edit to add that the PA4 winter tires are still prominently covered here on the Michelin website. They do note that there are limited quantities in the 19" size, but available in the 18" size.

Noticed this a little while ago as well, disappeared on Tirerack, Costco and a few other tires sites. My guess is supply has run out for the season (pretty popular tire).

I was lucky enough to find a used set, saved 500 bucks and they have 9.5/32nd. They want upwards of $1600CAD installed for them here, yet they still sold out...
