Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My batteries died in my key fob and have tried every which way to program it via the forums and google search online. Any and all help would be appreciated it someone knows a way that actually works. Keep in mind I have no driver side lock (the previous owner did the door handle mod). Thanks.

Take the door card off and use the two wires that lock the door. I did it with only one key.

I have a valet and another spare key as well just no door handle lock. Apparently you can use the trunk lock but I have yet to be successful.

As far as I know you cannot use the trunk lock. I've seen people claim its doable, but never seen verification it was possible. Taking the door panel off is your best bet. Trace the two wires that went to the door lock when it was present, touch them together and program that way.

So exactly what steps would I need to complete before and after tracing the wires and touching them together? Everyone on the forums thats I have searched says something different.

Use the vagcom walk through. Gotta do some digging, but it's on the rosstech site somewhere.

Subscribing. I have 2 keys I've been trying to program for weeks now. Nothing works.

I'm just short of going to Audi and having them do it.

That thread was absolutely no help, but hey none of the key fob threads have really helped ever so why should this be any different LOL.

I'll post some back shortly that I have tried to form a collective maybe we'll get lucky

These are two threads I tried to program with. I wasn't successful, but they had the most detailed info that I could find on the topic.

If memory serves, you need to put one key into the ignition into the "on" position (engine off). Then place the key youre programming into the door key cylinder, turn to lock/unlock a few times, and press the unlock/lock buttons on the fob. I know for a fact it was something like this as I bought 2 new keys for my S4 a couple years ago and it took me all of 15 minutes to get them configured again. If I can find the links for info I followed, I'll post them here.

I did find this in my bookmarks so it may have been what I did. Unsure as I can't remember exactly, but I had it bookmarked so it means something. I would try my suggestion above along with following this guide:

Is it possible to reprogram a key without having an extra? My central locking pump took a dump and I have to pick up a used one or something, and with that means it needs reprogramming for my key to work with it..
