S4 Owner who will be in the market soon for an RS7. Any tips/Suggestions?

My lease on my S4 will be up in Jan of 18 but i will need to figure out a replacement in the fall of 2017. My wife currently drives a 2010 X5M. My Audi will go back and i am going to take the BMW as my daily and the RS7 will be her DD/Family Car.

I am looking for a '14 and up and i want to have my ducks in a row when it's time to start seriously looking (which will likely be in the spring). Any major changes from model year to model year? Any mods on cars i should steer clear of? I'd love to buy one with a Tune to save myself the ridiculous cost of the flash for this car.

    Must have options?

    Thanks in advance.

OT but how does the X5M treat you. I've been very dissapointed in my 4.8i- leaks like a sieve, cooling system and a/c grenaded, and the interior is literally melting. I love the drive and size but thinking of looking elsewhere for a replacement.

Nothing really changes on the RS until the facelift where the head and tail lights are different.

    Interior, it's the same.

The thing is so practical and fast, its an honest blast to drive as a daily commute.

Honestly. It's a piece of shit. I will likely never buy another BMW. But at this point with how much I've had to put into it as of late... I want to ring it out another couple of years.

Facelift which was MY2015 if you can get into one is worth holding out for. May have been different in the US however I seem to recall in the UK some optional kit in the C7 came standard in the 7.5 like HUD? Had 8L S3, B6 S4, B7 RS4 and 8P RS3 and after the RS4 this is probably the best all rounder of the lot without any modifications.

OP, if you can't find a clean RS7 you could substitute with a refreshed or CPO Panamera Turbo. I'm on the same boat as you (16' S4) but a year later, still hoping Audi NA will bring the B9 RS4 or RS6 over.

Off topic, since your local and you lease your S4.. prior to turning it in you should totally sell me you EPL Stage2 dongle / tune license when you revert back to stock

    EPL Stage 2
    ECS Flush Fit Spacer Kit
    Stock 19" Peelers
Nokian R2's in stock sizes (will probably have about 6k on them when i sell them)

If you're interested in any of this stuff let me know and maybe we can work something out to save you some money.

lol thanks, not trying to thread jack. Already have CTS Intake and a set of wheels+blizzaks on top of my 19" summer black optics wheels. More interested in the EPL Stage 2 license, as it seems like it can be sold and transferred to different owners.

I want the same flexibility (as you) when it comes time for me to upgrade my S4. If I went GIAC Stage 2 route, that tune cannot be resold like EPL. To think about it, will have to ping Chris@EPL and see if tune/license can be sold more than once.

My advice is to go get one. I have a 2016 560HP blk on blk w carbon pkge. Two things I ended up with that I wouldn't want to due without are the comfort seats and the B&O stereo. The seats make a huge difference w the massage feature and the stereo is incredible. I am going on one year and its been nothing short of amazing. The new 17 Panamera Turbo would be even better as its handling is off the charts but that will cost another 40k.
