I am new to this forum as of last month and am looking to get into a C5 A6 2.7t 6spd and would like to know what i can expect from the car; i already know to go for the years after 2001 due to transmission issues and what not. But what else is there? Your input will be greatly appreciated

Be prepared for the worst (but hope for the best), as a C5 2.7 6 MT it is a rare find, and has likely been ran hard. Just do a good inspection, ask for 100k mile service records (proof, not word of mouth, and for every 100k on the car). If you know someone with VCDS, have the computer scanned. If not, find someone ;). I have a C5 2.7 auto with 225k miles on her. If the car was maintained, you shouldn't have tooooo many issues. Lol.

I can say that there are quite a number of 6spd 2.7t C5s here within 5-6 hrs driving distance though just need to find the right ones

I have a 2000 2.7 6 speed bought 3 years ago with 95k now with 155k no Trans problems yet...hopefully I'm not jinxing myself bu...had a tune on for about 30-35k miles now. I haven't harassed the car but I don't baby it every single day either. Love everybit...I had a mouse climb in my timing belt 4 days after I bought the car... started her up threw the belt, bent valves and all....so just had to add another 4 grand to the spending price of the car basically...ha..like they said ^^ if it's maintained right and you continue to maintain it properly..it won't be a migraine..maybe just a slight headache here and there hahaha as with every vehicle
