Questions about thermal temp sensor and EGT's

Just a few quick questions.. Did some looking around and can't seem to find any answers.

In regards to the Thermal temp sensor (green 2 pin located behind the drivers head in the coolant cross over pipe)... Is the only purpose of this switch for the secondary water pump? I have my harness completely pulled apart right now and I was looking to remove this pigtail if it isn't needed as I've deleted the secondary water pump completely. I'm assuming that the ECU doesn't take readings from this at all other than for the secondary water pump, but I wasn't sure about fans. I know there's a fan switch in the lower radiator hose but I just want to be certain that this doesn't tie into anything else.

Now, for EGT's... I have an APR stage 1 tune on my daily and both EGT sensors are bad. Therefore its in limp mode. I am well aware of retuning it for coded out EGT's, but APR won't do that for free, and Id rather just keep the apr tune instead of throwing on an open source. Is there a DIY for resistoring them off? A guy by the name of "Complacentsee" used to sell resistors on quattroworld for $40 + shipping. I'm looking for something similar like that. Either to purchase or make. Anything helps. Thanks in advance.

The Complacentsee simulators are legit and work totally fine. He is a top not seller.

contact [email protected], I was able to get a replacement pcb for the egt from him for $45, can take a little over a week to get to you but they work. you just open the egt case remove the old pcb solder in ther new and it works, with the added benift that you can put an egt gauge in to monitor them if you wish. if that email doesn't work try [email protected]

    refer to http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...TE-PPD-install for details
Never argue with an idiot, they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I've seen them in action and would like to go this route. Any idea how to get ahold of him, or even if he's still making them?

I'll honestly just grab an open source tune before I repair the stock EGT's as they're both bad and I'm not willing to pay $90 to keep them alive.

Really just looking for info on the simulators/resistor method.

In regards to the thermal temp switch...I figured that one out. It activates the larger electric fan and secondary water pump after the car is off. So, it's not a good idea to pull out that part of the harness since my efk wouldn't run after shut down either.
