    Lowering links and ride quality

I did the 17mm lowering via vcds. It's so minimal I'd like just a touch more but don't want to spend so much on a digital system. My question is; if I use lowering links and set it the ride quality to comfort for highway driving, with the links installed, will the car ride change as well as the height? There is quite a bit of difference in ride quality between dynamic and comfort. I want the lower look but don't want to mess with the factory ride quality settings.

When you switch modes all that happens is the ride height changes (no other adjustments occur), so by lowering your car 17mm, you are already in dynamic mode when set to comfort.

So it only changes the height but not dampening characteristics? Those characteristics are changed simply by the change in ride height? I just want to be sure. If I were to change vcds back to original settings, then the car would ride higher but have a softer ride in any mode?

I have links and lowered via VCDS. just short of 2 total inches of drop

In short the lower you keep going, the ride will keep getting a more and more "stiff" or "rough" or whatever similar adjective one wants to use. BUT i feel with air ride systems, compared to conventional suspensions, the ride quality is still pretty good even with the significantly reduced travel.

I often raise the car back to comfort mode when on the highway or with the wife and kids in the car, and it makes a reasonably noticeable difference.

Links are not expensive and not hard to install or remove, so give it a shot and if you don't care for it your not out much money or time either way
