How to deactivate headlight washers (vagcom)

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Lately during the winter I find the headlight washers rather annoying. I would like to deactivate them right in vagcom (if possible) but I can't seem to find the right codes. I've seen a few posts on this but nothing that has worked.

Has anyone had any luck with this?

Pull the fuse for the pump? I'm not sure it's a VAG-COM programmable item, and I know others have pulled the fuse and capped off the lines that run to them (mostly to avoid having to disconnect then when assuming the service position).

I did that, as per OG suggestion, for the reason listed. Dunno if I need to do anything beyond that, like pull fuse(s) or coding.

I broke the sprayer holder/housing in the bumper, so I just epoxied the body-color caps on and deleted everything else as much as I could. I forget where the pump is. I just know I put a vacuum cap in some washer line to plug it.

But later, I easily took the caps off by pushing from underneath, and chipped away the cured epoxy with a flathead.
Which makes me wonder, to prevent water ingress or even loosening down the line, if I should use something else if doing that. Such as a windshield adhesive, with was recently mentioned as an idea to glue on doorblades.

Pulling out #37 fuse will disable both headlight and windshield wiper pumps. Don't ask me how I know.

My permanent fix was unplug the headlight washer pump only. Also at the same time you need to change out the 30A fuse to a lower one to handle only the windshield wiper pump. I am using a 15A now. 30A would be dangerously too high for a single pump. I am pretty sure even a 10A will work but during winters, the pump may work harder and could blow the 10A too early.

I was originally thinking pull a fuse until I also saw it disables both, that's what led me to possibly deactivating in vag-com since they come on through a "timer" holding down the switch. I'm thinking isolating the headlight pump might be the best.

I think you can just disconnect the headlight washer pump at the bottom of the tank.

This or plug the hose from the washer tank going to the bumper if you have leaky headlight washers.
